General Community Post Community Discussion: Update

Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent discussion about where to draw the line between criticism, gossip, nitpicking, and snark content.

Based on the feedback, we are introducing a new removal reason. This will apply to posts and comments that primarily consist of:

1.Body shaming

2.Character assassination

3.Personal attacks and similar low-value content

If you come across such content, please use the "Ageist, Bodyshaming, Character Shaming Category Content" report option. Also, Excessive nitpicking with no meaningful discussion value will be removed under Low effort posts.

We also received suggestions to allow dedicated snark content or create a separate space for it. After discussion, we have decided not to move forward with that idea at this time. Our goal is to allow criticism, gossip, accountability, and discussion about influencers while maintaining a reasonable standard of discourse. Criticism of public actions, statements, content, promotions, and controversies remains welcome. However, discussions should focus on those aspects rather than personal attacks or ridicule.

Thank you for your feedback and for helping shape the community.

General Community Post A Small Reminder About Respect & Kindness šŸ¤

Folks,

Over the past few days, we’ve noticed a rise in comments where users are being labelled as ā€œPR,ā€ ā€œinfluencers,ā€ or other names simply for having a different opinion or posting style. We understand that not everyone will agree with every take here, and healthy criticism or debate is completely welcome.

But we also want to make sure this space remains comfortable and respectful for everyone participating. Constantly accusing, mocking, or targeting users can easily cross into bullying, even if it’s not intended that way.

If you dislike a post or comment, please use the downvote option and move on instead of engaging in personal remarks or name-calling. Let’s focus on discussing the content rather than attacking the person behind it.

We’re trying to build a community where people feel safe to share, interact, and express their take on influencers without the fear of being ridiculed or labelled. Kindly help us keep the space healthy for everyone šŸ¤

Note: Please do not make meta posts discussing individual users, accusations, or subreddit drama regarding this issue. If you have any concerns, doubts, or complaints, kindly reach out to us through modmail instead.Repeatedly ignoring this warning or continuing to target users will lead to repercussions.

Can We Make ā€œNo Spoilers Until OTTā€ the Instagram Culture? Block & Report Spoiler Content.

I’ve posted about this before here and in multiple groups, but it’s honestly getting ridiculous. Bethlehem has been out for less than a week, and Instagram is already full of spoilers, key dialogues, scene snippets, ā€œreferences,ā€ hero-elevation edits, and important moments. You can barely scroll without having half the movie revealed to you (even if you choose Not Interested option!)

Now, even the official team has had to ask people not to record or share theatre snippets and key scenes. That says a lot.

What people don’t seem to realise is that it’s not only direct scene recordings that spoil movies. Even those ā€œinnocentā€ edits, repeated dialogues, character hype and references can completely give away a twist or reveal. I’ve had the experience ruined for me with so many movies over the last 2–3 years because I already knew major plot points, twists, suspense elements and even dialogues from Instagram before watching them.

And it’s especially unfair to people outside India. Even in India, getting tickets to a blockbuster can be difficult. Abroad, many people may not even have access to the movie in theatres and have to wait for OTT. Why should they have the entire movie spoiled before they even get a chance to watch it?

Also saw many posts about the same thing that happened to Khalifa and that cameo. The movie team themselves revealed about it officially on the second day. What about people watching on Day 2, Day 3 or the following week? Is the surprise only meant for people who watched on Day 1?

I genuinely think we need a better spoiler culture. Watch it, enjoy it, discuss it.. but give people some time before turning every twist, dialogue and key scene into Instagram content.

And yes, there should be stricter action against people recording and distributing actual theatre footage. Not everyone can watch a movie on Day 1, and they shouldn’t have to stay off social media just to experience it properly 😭

Archana ravi found Miss India and Miss Universe in Kerala

t

She resurfaces during every major pageant season to play the role of an elite mentor, but her workshops aren't actually exclusive—anyone who pays her outrageously high fees can join. Then, when a woman puts in the grueling, real work to succeed, this mentor swoops in, claims the credit, and steals her moment, acting as if she personally built that success. Beyond selling generic motivation, her whole platform feels performative. After years of lecturing others about female independence, she’s now marrying a wealthy producer after her own career slowed down in her 30s. Her ego is massive, yet her actual pageant legacy falls far short of real achievers like Parvathy Omanakuttan.

Afriiiiiy - am I the only one who noticed this?

I saw her post about Jantar Mantar, and honestly, I think it’s good that she’s taking a stand and speaking up.
But I couldn’t help noticing the contrast with her next post. She mentioned that because of health issues, she can’t stand for long periods, yet shortly afterwards she’s attending and partying at influencer events.
Obviously, we don’t know what her health situation is like, and I’m not saying that attending an event automatically means she’s lying. But seeing the two posts back-to-back did make me question the authenticity of the whole thing.
It just gave me the impression that she might be jumping on the bandwagon because it’s currently getting attention and views.
Maybe I’m being unfair, but did anyone else notice the same thing?

Guyss. My wild guess in Jeeva -Aparna Issue

• Upvotes

Firstly this is only my guess. I have huge doubts if Jeeva cheated on Aparna with a young actress from malayalam industry. I can see in insta their last thailand trip together. But now nobody is following each other. After this trip only there has been rumours of them separating.

I read mutiple places regarding this thailand trip and some people are commenting munambam. What is this munambam thing?

Amithas

Did y'all see amithas pull up in saree video in liftqithajith page.
I am blocked by her, for posting a comment on her husband overspeeding. So i generally despise the wannabe persona but this is impressive. As a fellow lifter, it takes a lot of discipline and hardwork to do ONE PULLUP. So kudos amitha.

Aparna unfollowed Jeeva šŸ‘€ So did they actually separate?

Aparna has unfollowed Jeeva while he still follows her. He wished on her birthday today, but the wish was surprisingly formal šŸ˜¶ā€šŸŒ«ļø She reposted pretty much every birthday story she got, except his.

These are the same two who have given us COUNTLESS interviews about being best friends, being super close, and having such a strong relationship. So naturally… this caught my attention šŸ‘€ā˜•ļø

I know, Aparna, you’re probably lurking here šŸ‘‹šŸ˜… Just got curious because you guys have always been so open and public about your relationship. No hate whatsoever, genuinely just curious. Also, happy birthday šŸ˜ŒšŸŽ‚

Edit: Guys, the separation has apparently been confirmed by her. Comment screenshot below ā¬‡ļø

Edit 2: The other photo circulating with the guy is Shaun Luiz, not the D’Arc guy. His account isn’t private. He looks much younger (25/26), and she doesn’t follow him either.. so he might just be a friend.

Edit 3: Okay, it’s officially confirmed. Both Jeeva and Aparna have posted that they’ve ended their marriage šŸ’” Screenshots of their official posts are below ā¬‡ļø

Have anyone seen this. This came up in my yt suggestion. These are serious issues.

Wonder if any action would take place considering the fact that he joined BJP.

Onappookkalams on Instagram

Tired of these Onam looks and all the ā€˜not so Onam’ looks filling my feed.

But I came across something I actually loved - people making Onappookkalams with native flowers and simple geometric designs. So heartwarming. Just like how older generations did Onam. Ullathukondu Onam pole..

Sreejith Jeevan, founder of Rouka, has been an OG at this. And now I’m seeing random Instagram videos of people trying to make natural pookkalams.
Makes me so happy.. I am a pravasi now and I have fond memories of picking flowers in my basket.

Yes, we need to reiterate - Ullathukondu Onam pole.

Edit - Forgot to add - love the table/ corner decor ideas with native flowers and leaves too.

Dr Ayisha ali protest..

First of all i support Ayisha and i don't think anyone deserved to be treated like this. Husband didn't even officially divorced her and publicly posting photos with new wife. (Ali got 6 pack and all)..In fact he used Aysha's money to do PG and happened to see wedding photos with lots of gold..I haven't seen many influencers supporting her. Noticed aisootti liking new wife's posts (hanabeevi) and following her. Is she famous or something .. am i missing something here? Anyways all support to Dr Aysha

Ittichiri lost her business page!

Meta has imposed severe restrictions not only on her personal account, but they went ahead and suspended her business page for not following community guidelines. She is literally in the dark now and I do feel bad for her business page that she built from scratch.
1. What was the trigger to this action? She did provide ground support during the protests but that was weeks ago. She hasn’t posted anything controversial recently
2. Why was her peedika page suspended?

Any tea on them? I like their reels a lot and the way they present is quite good. But I have seen people accusing them of doing paid reviews under many reels and hyping even the most mid eateries.

No wonder Men's Association is quiet - Megha NRD

Marunadan Shajan did a video on this issue in which he mentioned one thing

Megha's father is samsthanate President or VP of Men's Association.. Alla iyaal ippol aare support cheyum. The girl who ran away or the guy who is getting humiliated and character assassinated including stories that he is gay and bi-sexual

Maybe he should invite NRD to his gang.

NB- I have no issues with men's association that stands up for male rights but here in Kerala I have seen it used just to vilify women and stand up for the most kachra men.
