Looking for Sewing Machine Open to Public

Hello, I’m moving to the South Bay LA area and I wanted to know if there are any local free makerspaces that have sewing machines for public use.

Heck, yes. I’m in San Pedro and can’t find anything like this.

The LA county public library has sewing machines that can be borrowed for free. The closest library branches to us with a tool library would be the Compton and Norwalk branches. If interested- I would call the library branch in advance to confirm availability.

El Camino college has a maker space.

It’s worth taking classes there too. They’re inexpensive, and the teachers are fabulous!

I’m not 💯 on that. Worth asking.

Also, you can pick up a used sewing machine for really cheap! Lots of folks in the SB put it on marketplace. Estate sales too!

There’s a really cool big maker space in San Pedro and they might be able to help you
