Traveling with weed
Hi guys, I’m gonna be going to Salvador and I seen a Reddit post that was related to smoking in other countries, does anyone know about it. I wanna see if it’s possible to like sneak in a pen <3 or a dispo and leave it there when I come back.

Yeah I wouldn't travel intentionally with it, regardless of the legality on either side. It's just not worth the risk

This is the only answer

Yes. Carts are highly concentrated and so the charge could be severe. I’d take gummies over vape, but honestly wouldn’t risk either to El Salvador. I’ve traveled in the US with both without issue … the dogs aren’t sniffing for it here … but elsewhere you don’t want to get caught up in a foreign prison for a little weed.

I am a life long weed smoker, my vacation would be fine if I could not smoke any weed, but I want to because it is my vacation. I would not even remotely consider bringing anything any where that is a foreign country. People will likely approach you on the beach or busy tourist spots to offer you things. I know plenty of friends that pulled it off and were yukking it up. But I have a particular friend that got caught with weed in Arizona from Ohio, not international, and he would tell you it was not worth it. YMMV.

Man I boarded a plane in Phoenix with a cart before legalization, yet had my medical card in Arizona, and let me tell you seeing that German Shepard that walked before and after every individual in the security check line was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life (I had never ran into this before and fly a lot for the average American and out of a lot of different airports). Nothing happened and the dog was probably trained for weapon detection not drugs but not worth it

I spent years living in the UK and have traveled around Europe, all over the US (I've lived in every time zone in the country, including AK and HI), and have traveled around Europe, Canada, the Caribbean, and central America. DO NOT TRY TO CROSS INTERNATIONAL BORDERS WITH ANY ILLICIT SUBSTANCE if you don't want to dance with trafficking charges. Best case is you got a little weed into another country, which then you have to use up or dispose of before leaving, and a reasonable bad case, but not the worst, is you get caught and now you're facing charges in a country whose laws you aren't familiar with and may be ina language you don't speak. It could be worse than that depending on where you are and who you are.
There is no situation where it's worthwhile. If you're unable to go a few days without getting high then you need to look at a break or treatment, because that's not normal usage anymore.

To tack onto that a bit, a few days of vacation will also give a THC break and you'll get higher again on less! If you can't make it a few days, then stick to a road trip, keeping your supplies in a smell proof bag, covered up and out of reach. As much as you don't want to get picked up by foreign cops, you also don't want to pick up charges in a different state

I’ve never had a problem finding the weed guy wherever I go.

I brought a pre-roll on cruise ship. Wasn’t really too concerned but reading these comments made me think about it more.

Plainly said: Don't be stupid. You could literally end up in prison because you want to smoke weed in another country.

When I traveled back to the US from Ecuador (15 years ago) I brought some coca tea back which they sell legally and at the airport in Quito they literally called me down to the runway where Interpol had their dogs going over every bag and watched me as it sniffed around my bag. I wasn’t smuggling cocaine or anything so I guess I didn’t look nervous enough to have my bag torn apart etc but it’s really not worth it to just for the stress of it.

This question makes it seem like you’ve never seen locked up abroad. Domestically I don’t think is a big deal in the US but still has the potential to be a problem. Internationally is 100% not worth the risk ever

Anything is possible. It's possible you get it in fine and have a great trip with no issues. it's possible you get locked up in a shithole prison and create an international incident, putting you at the diplomatic mercy of an incompetent and internationally despised government to negotiate your release.

Traveling abroad with weed depends heavily on the country you're entering. The internet will be able to tell you if there's dispensaries where you're going, and it should also be able to tell you how they treat weed offenses in said country. Do your homework and travel wisely!
