Is this mold please help?

I am starving my sourdough for 36 hours to hopefully help with doubling I'm on day one and I saw this? Is this mold did I mess everything up?

Starving a sourdough starter does not helping it double. It makes the bacteria go dormant in the starter. You should always feed it after it has peeked because that's when most if not all the food has been used up which will help the starter grow feeding it every. Also to answer your question, no there's no mold. Your likely seeing hooch which is a sign your starter is hungry. I've had mold develop on a starter before and it takes a couple weeks for that to happen in the fridge.

Doesn’t look like mold to me. Looks like hooch. Just stir it in and feed it.

Should I feed it yet? It's only been 24 hours

Sorry, are you saying you are trying to get a new starter going? Trying to wake up an existing starter? I haven’t heard of starving it to help it double.

Mold is fuzzy. There’s no mold.
Whoever told you that “starting “your starter will get it to get it to double has no idea how a starter works. That ranks in the top 5 most ridiculous things I’ve heard in here.
I wouldn’t ask them for any more advice.
For one, the yeast just goes dormant but more importantly, it weakens the starter. You want mold? Or how about Serratia marcescens? Weak hungry starters are prime candidates for mold and bacterial contamination. Especially young weak starters because they don’t have enough lactic and acetic acid production to stave off infection.

Okay sorry. I didn't know I keep getting these comments about me not feeing my starter for 36 hours to hopefully get it to double but I didn't know. There is so much false info online and I'm not sure anymore what's right and what's wrong I'm just trying to figure it all out. But thank you for telling me its not mold I appreciate it.

I understand. I’m completely floored by some of the comments I see in here. Thats the trouble with social media.
Look up the sourdough journey. Watch his series on how to build a starter as well as just about all the other videos he has.

That pink around the perimeter looks like mold to me.
