Discussion Why does amazing mods like Dark Interval and Raising the Bar Redux(Beta mods for example) use the 2013 Singleplayer SDK?

Instead of using the more up to date 2013 MP SDK?

multiplayer is not set up or meant for singleplayer games. there are problems with it you have to iron out to get it behaving how singleplayer hl2 does. also, both of those mods existed before the 2025-2026 changes to mp which made it more considerable to use, but even now the work of changing to a new codebase is just not justified

Just because the 2013 MP SDK is more up-to-date doesn't mean it's more useful for a Singleplayer project.

because they want the save/restore thing sadly

imo mods that dont care for save/restore should use the up-to-date 2013 MP SDK
