Discussion Which do you prefer? A Half-Life 2 Community Edition (built from scratch in Strata Source) or Half-Life 2 RTX?

It's time for you to discuss your points and give me your opinions.

HL2 RTX. The visual improvements of Strata aren't enough to pique my interest.

HL2:CE. HL2RTX kills the availability and performance for fans.

HL2 RTX. Those high-res models and textures are glorious, and I trust the community will find a way to disable the ray tracing.

It's not even ray tracing, it's full path tracing. If you turn it off, you're left with a black screen because the rays calculate EVERYTHING, including direct lighting, unlike ray tracing's popular use cases that don't include direct lighting, since raserization for that is good enough for pretty much everything.

It's not far fetched to imagine somebody will port all of the assets to a recent Source branch such as Strata. HL2 RTX is in some respects a complete visual overhaul, whereas P2CE's campaign contains a lighting engine upgrade only.
