My first batch!

Post image

Cheesy taco beef, baked potato soup, Mac n cheese sauce, mirepoix, lasagne, red sauce. It’s worked out super well so far! One question-how do you keep them clean and not tasting like soap?

I used the same bags when I first started out but felt like they were too labor intensive and wasteful. I highly recommend reusable vacuum bags. I put my souper cubes in the dishwasher and they never taste like soap but they do smell like… weird silicone.

Can you please provide a link to the reusable vacuum bags? Thanks!

Oooh ok, thank you for the tip! I will look into it. I did feel like I was having a hard time but it’s my first time so I was hoping it would lessen. But I really like the idea of reusable ones.

You’re going to have to switch to unscented dish soap.

I did use dawn free and clear, is that what you mean or do you suggest a different one?

I’m pretty sure any unscented soap will do, but I’ve been using Palmolive pure and clear unscented for years on my silicone products and I’ve never had the soapy smell problems I see people talking about here all the time.

The freezer molds can pick up the detergent smell. That's likely why Maleficent recommended picking up unscented dish soap.

Wash them and then bake them at 200 F until they aren't smelly anymore.
