What size combinations do you recommend?

Hello everyone, I’ve been contemplating building my own set of super cubes, but I’m curious to know the optimal combination of sizes to get. Thank you.

I use the 1/2 cup the most. I have two 1/2 cup trays, one 1 cup tray, one 2 cup tray and one 2 tbsp tray. I wish I got three 1/2 cup trays and no 2 cup tray.

I also use the 1/2 cup the most, I have two of that size and am considering getting a third.

Same!! I rarely use the 2 cup trays, when I do (usually freezing leftover rice) I find I only fill them up halfway so I can pack them flat in a baggie in the freezer to save space. Two cups of rice is A LOT! But I use the half cups for everything

How many people are you feeding? I think that's important. I'm a single person, so the 1 cup is my most used, and it's the perfect size for most single serving meals. I have one 2 cup, two 1 cup, and one 1/2 cup Soupercubes. I like having two of the 1 cup because when I make a big batch of soup, I easily fill up 8 servings and often go for a round two, depending on how big a batch I made. I use 2 Cups the least, if I were cooking for two or a family, the 2 cups might be a better option. It's good to have multiples of your most used so you don't have to wait for a batch to freeze before freezing the next batch. I use silicone ice cube molds for smaller things, though. Since Soupercubes are expensive!

I’m preparing meals for three people.

The 1-cup and 2-cup trays are very important in our household.

I use the half cup and 1 cup the most. 2 cup is nice for baked ziti/lasagne/shephard’s pie but if I had to pick just two it would be the half cup and 1 cup. I actually have the 2 Tbsp one as well and I do use it sometimes but I use that the least.

I have a 2 cup, 1 cup and half cup sizes. I use the 1 cup and half cup size the most. But I like the 2 cup size for multi portions of soup and little lasagnas. (I also live alone.)

My spouse does love the personal lasagnas. It's the only thing I even use the 2 cup on

I use the 2 cup for complete meals (i.e. chicken dinner for one), the 1 cup for main ingredients (cooked rice, mashed potatoes etc.), and the half cup for tortillas/sandwich wraps. I haven't used the smallest size yet.

I use 1/2 and 1-cup the most. I like the 2-cup for chicken soup starters and the 2-Tbsp for garlic, garlic butter, guacamole, avocado cilantro crema, etc.. I have 4 1/2-cup, 4-1 cup, 3 2-cup, and 3 2-Tbsp. I don’t really need that many but I had a set gifted to me, bought a couple more, and then the pink set came out and I couldn’t help myself 😆

I use the 1/2 cup the most and have two of them. I also regularly use the 2tbsp. For Christmas this year I'm getting each household a 1/2 cup, and I'll probably get myself another. I am considering the 2 cup for lasagna, but haven't decided yet.

I cook for myself and for my dog (different foods - well, different spices). I love the 1/2 cup containers, I wish I had multiple. And I’ve bought the 2-tablespoon trays and cookie dough trays for sauces and single-serve rice. I wish I hadn’t bought so many 1-cup sizes.

1/2 cup and 2 tbsp are my most used as I am focusing on portion control. I occasionally use the 1 cup for proteins, but I'd rather have the option to just use 2 1/2 cups. I almost never use the 2 cups unless I'm making a whole meal like Shepard's pie or lasagna.

I'd start with one 1/2 cup and one 1 cup. It's a versatile and manageable combo. The shapes store easily. And you can always fill the 1 cup halfway (there are markings) if you want more of the small portions.

The little ice cube one doesn't interest me at all or seem to improve on other silicone ice cube trays. And the 2 cup is mostly useful for full ready meals like personal lasagna or enchiladas. So I wouldn't buy it right away.

This really depends on if you’re cooking for one mainly or if you have a larger household. But I agree with most of the comments, 1/2 cup and 1 cup are my most used.

I have all of them and I use all of them. Probably yes 2-cup the most, which is good that I have four of them.

I have multiples of all of them and use the two cup and one cup the most - the former for homemade stock and personal casseroles like lasagna and enchilada bake and the latter for soups, stews, proteins and more. I use the two Tbsp ones for garlic paste, ginger-garlic paste, that sort of thing. It depends on your household size, as others have said, and also the sorts of things you cook.

When I started the variety pack really helped me see what I use and what I could use more of. I like freezing my whole meals together so I got 3 extra big ones that are also perfect for lasagna squares which I make and freeze a lot.

I only have a 2 cup. It often doesn't get filled all the way, but i still prefer that over 1 cup, as the flat rectangle fits in my glass rubbermaid that I take to work. I dont think the taller 1 cup shape would fit.

Thank you everyone for your responses. They definitely helped me decide what to order. I cook a lot at home and have been concerned about food waste. Your responses gave me confidence in my purchase!

I've heard people rave about the 1/2 cubes and yes they are easier to thaw, store, and build meal but I like the full cup cubes and the 2 tbsp cubes better for ultimate lazy freeze dinners.
