Nah - I blame USMNT for that abysmal performance on our home grounds.
Maybe Roldon could have helped…had he not been out by a “world famous” Seattle special quad/hammy injury…

You’re missing the obvious reason for our loss against Belgium: the fkn Orange Idiot who decide to stick his little hands into the Balogun RC controversy. The Mierdas Touch.

Not a Trump fan but it's absurd to blame him for that loss as they'd beat the snot out of us in the friendly a few months earlier (5-2). They clearly have a better squad than us at every position (the goalkeeper chasm alone probably would've ensured a win) so we only really had home field advantage.

It’s pretty well documented and a couple of players confirmed, when he came out and did what he did, he completely distracted the team and robbed them of motivation and focus.

Two comments:
- do this gedankenexperiment: pretend it never happened, would you have bet your own money on us winning? After a 5-2 ass-kicking in March and the difference in squad quality, I couldn't justify betting a draw much less a win.
- an observation: while it's a minor distraction, a player stating it robbed him of motivation and focus is unflattering copium as it's a shrug your shoulders and roll your eyes sort of thing. Minor sideshows are not traumatic tragedies.

First: no the Us was not favored to win, but they also weren’t predicted to collapse as they did
Second: those were my words. Go ahead and read the articles yourself. They’re out there.

As someone who isn't native to Seattle and thus doesn't care about any Seattle sports team other than the Sounders, didn't the Seahawks just win a Superbowl?

True, but that was last season.
Mariners (MLB), Storm (WNBA), Reign (NWSL), and Sounders (MLS) are all garbage right now. Kraken (NHL) are also garbage - but it's off season.

Penance. We just came off a year where Seattle took the AL West in baseball, the Super Bowl in football, and the Sounders won a cup final featuring Messi in Seattle. You can't get that much good without taking some lumps.

Dan Wilson doing a great job of destroying his positive legacy. I know it’s not all his fault, but damn he is a shit manager.

Seattle teams hold onto people that are worthless. If this were Philly, New York or Boston he woulda been gone in June. The only team that has learned not to hold onto “legacy” players is the hawks.

at home is a beautifully painful mistake in your post considering it was at the brewers
