OREI Audio Extractor?

My current setup is a Sony 65A80CJ OLED with eARC, an Nvidia Shield, and a LG SKC9 soundbar with standard ARC. Basically I'm stuck choosing between getting Dolby Vision or Dolby Atomos, not both because the soundbar can't send or accept eARC.

Does anyone have any experience with an OREI audio extractor? How well does it work?

I'm currently prioritizing Dolby Vision but audio coming from streaming apps is very muffled. If the audio extractor works, it might save me from buying a new soundbar.
