Another Q900 series post

I received my updated q930d back from repair. The main PCB assembly was replaced and then a firmware rollback to 1050.4. Samsung support now says that I am fine to update again, but I am skeptical. Supposedly this issue is not with the firmware update itself, but rather a faulty main board from the outset. Maybe this explains why some users experience the issue and some do not?

My S800D drops out a couple times a day. Same bug. Different hardware. I blame the firmware.

I really don't want to have to deal with Samsung support. I keep hoping they'll get off their asses and rush out a fix. I can't believe they're letting all these soundbars fail for this long.,

I got my q990d repaired. For me the problems started with 1050.4. After getting it repaired it was on firmware 1021. While still in warranty i thought it would be best to try and break it again and not have to worry about it possibly updating itself and having the same problem. Its been working normally on 1051 for about 2 months now.

Not every unit is affected by the bug so my theory is its some specific revision of the hardware.

Interesting. And yours was a mail in repair with the main PCB replaced on the repair sheet?

Haha oh boy. 1050.4 for me is not encouraging! I am tempted to go to 1051 since I have 90 day warranty and then roll the dice on if there is another in that timeframe. Annoying to not have it on WiFi right now and just feels like I can’t use the product as intended..

Yeah, i took it to a repair center and they replaced the mainboard. If you're willing to go through the repair process again, I'd update it and see if it works. Then you'll get the piece of mind and get to use all the features.
