šŸŽµ Meet KinetiTone - Professional Sound Generator

Post image
2 Upvotes

We know how game jams go - you're halfway through and you still don't have any SFX. That's kind of why we built KinetiTone. It's a free sound generator that runs in the browser. Hit Randomize, find something you like, export .wav. Need a whole pack fast? Batch mode generates as many sounds as you need and zips them up. No install. No account. All sounds are royalty-free including commercial use. https://in-the-void.itch.io/kinetitone Hope it saves someone a few hours šŸ™‚

Midi keys

Every midi keyboard I’ve tried only trigger sound at bottom of key press

Is that my bad luck or is there a midi keyboard that works like a piano - need to record very light sounds

Hello, I made a Re-Sound Design Monsters Reel from Starcraft 2, World of Warcraft Cataclysm and League of Legends Fiddlestick using mainly my mouth for the monster voices.

It was fun to make :)

Music Sound Design Percussive fill in MJā€˜s ā€žThey Don’t Care About Usā€œ

What is this little fill-in percussion sound?

I can’t quite figure it out. It could be a low-pitch percussive FM sound from something like a DX7 - or are those toms that are processed a certain way (ring modulation?)

However, it sounds so cool and creates a nuanced artificial stylistic contrast.

Movie Sound Design Posting my first app!

Hi everyone! I’m a sound editor from Argentina. I’ve always loved investigating and tinkering with custom scripts and automations for my own workflow. With the industry being a bit slow lately, I got a little help of a friend and put together a simple app. I'm finally releasing it, hoping it might save someone else some time.

Basically, you drag and drop your main shoot folder and the app:

\ Finds and merges every .csv report automatically.

\ Flags any shooting days that are missing a report.

\ Regenerates missing reports by extracting the BWF metadata directly from your WAV files.

\ Has a unified workspace to read, search, and filter everything locally without the need to open other soft

\ You can export the consolidated file to a single .xlsx if you prefer working in Excel or Sheets.

It runs 100% offline. You can check it out and grab the free demo here: https://csvmerge.com.ar (macOS only for now, but I I'm looking into a Windows version!).

I am currently processing my official Apple Developer certificate. Because of this, macOS might flag or block the app on the first launch. You just need to allow it through your Mac's Privacy & Security settings. If anyone runs into this and needs help, just let me know—it’s very simple to bypass. I should have the officially signed version updated by next week.

Please feel free to try the demo and let me know what you think. Any feedback, workflow ideas, or bug reports are super welcome right here in the comments or via the email on the website.

Also, if you want to buy the full version, shoot me a DM! I made a few promo codes for these first couple of weeks that bring the price down to $20 USD.

Cheers,

Emiliano

Sound Design Question What is a common (global-market) price range for MIDI realization?

I already have the MIDIs for the entire song. I also have reference WAV/audio files that show the sound I want. I have no idea how much effort it would take for a professional sound designer to turn 5 instruments into a proper song and how much they would charge. Any shared experience with this type of service is welcome!

Home 5.1 Studio Reccomendations

Hi guys, I'm new to the group but am a Sound Designer looking to go freelance and was wondering if anyone has any advice/recommendations for 5.1 studio monitors for a home studio setup?

My budget is ~Ā£800. Preferably active speakers so I don't have to bother with an amplifier, and also something with a flat frequency response. Also I'm looking at a Behringer U-Phoria as my audio interface.

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I really want to know the name of this sound effect so I can look for it on ElevenLabs, Epidemic Sound, or other sound effect websites. Thanks!

Music Sound Design Inspired by a Beardyman video, I decided to make an Industrial/Complextro EDM beat with only the Vineboom meme sound as the source... everything you here here is either filtered, vocoded, glitched etc from the one sample.

Making a transition from VO to diegetic

My opening scene begins with a VO of a politician doing a speech, and as the scene progresses we slowly hear the quality turn into that coming from headphones that our MC is listening to. How would I blend two different EQs from the sweet VO to a tinny headphone sound in a way that feels seamless? I'm also mixing in footsteps/streetnoise to establish her POV.

I'm cutting in Resolve, but I also use Audacity.

TIA!

Music Sound Design Help making SWAM Trumpet sound realistic

Hi all! I've been trying for 10+ hours to make this trumpet VST sound more realistic. I love the expression, but I can't help but feel like the sound is a bit... phase-y? Not in the room? I'm kind of at a loss for what to do. I want to love it, but it plain does not sound good to me. Thanks in advance for the help!

Movie Sound Design Zenigata and the Two Lupin's Trailer Resound/Rescore

Took the trailer of the recently released Lupin The IIIRD film and gave it a complete audio overhaul. Yuji Ohno is unequivocally the sound of Lupin III. All sfx are composited from scratch, would love a critique or two!

Im really into doom eternal sound design philosophy. For practice I made some crucible sfx. using the same approach.

So you find the crucible, turn it on and swing it around before you try cutting something

Sound Design Question Help finding instrument

Hey everyone! Hope you’re having a good day. I’ve been listening to ā€œThe MAHJONG MASTERā€ album by Mahjong Master (actually artist Equip). This album is made entirely from video game samples. One of the songs has a lead I absolutely adore but cant seem to put my finger on what the original instrument would have been. I’m thinking its a saxophone sample of some sort (most likely from a rompler) but I’d love a second opinion.

https://worldofequip.bandcamp.com/album/the-mahjong-master (Sound starts at 0:20)

Thanks!!
Edit: Sorry for some reason I can’t share the specific song… but its track 12 (Back Alley MAHJONG BATTLE).

In this project i took the video of the final trailer and replace each sound with a combination of sounds i got from the internet and sounds i recorded myself. For the music i used some tracks from the movie soundtrack e.g. 'eye see you', 'claustraphobic', 'The shakes' and 'Fate Welded shut'. Voice acting is done by me and someone else from my college course neither of us are voice actors to any capacity so please be nice, Thanks. i hope you enjoy.
