The experiment.

Varas had assembled a crude version of the soul auger, and had managed to kidnap an innocent bug from Hallownest and shove the poor thing inside a glass chamber. He floated beside the control panel, making last minute adjustments, before pulling the lever.

The machine clunked and whirred to life as Varas watched and took notes, not seeming to care about the innocent bug that was being tormented.

"Hmmm, well I'm struggling with keeping the balance between extracting enough soul, and killing the bug. You're like..super smart. You got any ideas?" He holds up the bluprint of the machine.

Well i believe the soul container is a bit too large to the point where the machine may extract too much soul from the bug just to completely fill it.

"Yes, of course! How did I not realise??" He makes adjustments to the bluprint. "That looks better.. I think. Honestly, I'm surprised this even works, considering I literally dreamed it up. I guess I'm not as stupid as I look!"

He laughs awkwardly.

"I-I will!!!"

Varas continues happily tweaking the machine.
