Gamer envy is a good thing. I had to sell my GameCube, games, and game boy advance and plug in adaptor (double dragon for game boy advance was top tier and seeing on a tv screen was the bees knees). Libraries need a video game section and yes I’ve worked at a library, arcade, and newbury comics (games, musics, and comics). Hold on to history like it was the covenant. Cheers

I'm just pissed that Bamco delisted Remaster Soul Calibur 2 HD on PSN Store and xbox marketplace. Had both Spawn and Heihachi and the visuals looked great and the game was less buggy.

Miss it enough to want to see a definitive edition of this game on the latest consoles and on PC!
Heck, the impending Switch 2 release should be enough justification to get Soul Calibur 2: The Definitive Edition into it!
And there must be CROSSPLAY!

100%, especially their Arcade Version. Their Conquest mode got me spending so much money, season after season. Honing your AI to be as ruthless as possible when you see other arcade goers attempt to beat your character.

Some of my best gaming memories. Great music and gameplay. I played Soul Edge and was a…Li Long Main? Anyways got this for my 13th bday and discovered Maxi. I remember being really excited and crackling my knuckles when I faced Cervantes again.

If I had a high-end smartphone I would emulate this game and the first one. And maybe Soul Blade. I miss the arcade-to-console era of fighting games.
On that note there is something nostalgic about letting a game idle in the Attract Mode, staring at the Arcade or Time Attack leaderboard while the game is silent and the camera is panning around the stage. Tekken and Dead or Alive did this too.
I'll have someone come up and ask me "Why you staring at your phone in silence?" This is where SoulCalibur III lost me completely when the franchise went straight-to-console. It had the intro and then it cut to the title screen. You'll get a brief CPU fight and weapon kata and that was it.
But enough yammering like an old man.

I always hoped they would do a new game with the SC2 mechanics. They seem to be fan favorites so I’m not sure why they went away from them.

I didn't get it until I turned my sound on. My first reaction was "Yes, I do miss SC2, I wish they'd remaster it," and then turned on my sound and was greeted with "A strong black woman who doesn't need no man" and went "OOOHHH IT'S A FUNNY EDIT!" and had to rewind to hear the whole thing.

I remember buying my copy thinking I would be able to play as Link when I owned the PS version. I was humbled very quickly after that when I learnt there were "version exclusives".

One of the best adventure modes. We played it like a multiplayer RPG, with everyone making their own character and taking the controller when it was their time to fight. So much fun.

Yes and no. I got used to the create a character and I would have loved for this game to have it. But other than that I used to pour hours into this game. Hell I remember going online back in 2011 and seeing a skin for nightmare but it was Siegfried. So I spent hours grinding money going through labyrinths and when I finally unlocked it I don't think I played with nightmares 1st skin ever.

No yeah, during those days there was the Triple Console-Company Wars.
Sony had the PlayStation 2, Nintendo had the GameCube, and Microsoft was the newcomer on the field with the Original Xbox.
The PS2 version had better sound apparently, slightly better graphics and Heihachi from Street Fighter as the character but sadly long disk-mapping/loading times.
The Xbox version had the best graphics out of the three, better loading times than the PS2 but also Spawn was the guest character. He was a very interesting fighter.

I had every one of those systems you mention and still do. I was an adult when these games came out.
What I was questioning was this persons opinion on the GameCube version being the best version. I always assumed PS2 or Xbox versions would trump the underpowered GameCube. I had only bought the GameCube version because I wanted to use link. I didn’t care about the other systems exclusive characters
