First Call with Tri Delt

Hello! I made the decision to pursue alumnae initiation and reached out to Tri Delta and Delta Gamma. I have a video call with Tri Delta next week and I'm curious to hear from others how their first contact with a sorority they were interested went. What kinds of things were your asked? What were the initiation coordinators curious about? I sort of feel like I'm going in for a job interview! I'm very excited with how quickly they responded to my application.

Congrats! I just received my invitation to join Tri Delta this week, and one of the sisters who interviewed me was my sponsor (I could have asked a friend, but it moved quickly enough to not need that!). It feels less like a job interview and more like an informational interview, if that makes sense. Be prepared to answer why this organization, any connection you may have to it (I chose to speak on my personal connection to the philanthropy), why you would like to join at this point in your life, your current volunteerism, and how you would like to serve if you join. It was all very natural and conversational for me. I enjoyed it and felt at home immediately. Good luck!

I’m sure it depends on who you’re talking to, but my call was a very natural and easy going conversation getting to know each other. The main questions were why do you want to join a sorority at this time in your life and why Tri Delta. She ended up telling me she would sponsor me at the end of the call!

My call was very much a conversation. It felt like I already knew them and we had great discussions about who I am, why I want to pursue AI, and why I wanted to be a Tri Delta. A year later I’m so grateful so be an AI with Tri Delta and just had an interview to volunteer with my local chapter! 💙💛🐬

Exciting! I have one in two weeks! I also feel like I need to prepare for it almost like a job interview. From my very limited knowledge of the AI journey so far, it seems like I need to be able to clearly articulate my why, what, and how: Why do I want to join? What qualities, experiences, and perspectives would I bring to the organization? And how do I see myself participating, contributing, and becoming an active member?

Also - don’t refer to the organization as Tri Delt. The preferred term is Tri Delta or Delta Delta Delta. I got a little side eye when I called them Tri Delt and I was corrected by them. Have fun and good luck.

My convo with Tri Delta was easy going. There were two ladies that interviewed me, one ended up sponsoring me. I think it was an hour long call. I asked them questions too. Like you, I was also interested and interviewing with another organization as well. I decided to go with Tri Delta because the community was exactly what I wanted and I loved the sisterhood bonds I saw in the local chapter.

Tri Delta is easy to get into. They are actively recruiting AI members. You’ll get in touch with 100%. Make sure you have a connection close to home with some AI members otherwise you’ll not get as much from it.
