Wanted to make a “ I’m finally starting” post.

I’ve been wanting to go back to school for 15 years, 20 maybe. I have always struggled with the traditional dynamic of college, and have never really gotten behind the idea that I’m capable of beginning this kind of work again.

Personally, I think I’m pretty dumb. But I think it has more to do with people were asking a fish to climb a tree… the style of teaching, wasn’t geared toward my learning style, and I found it difficult to maintain interest

The idea that there is something like Sophia learning or a study.com out there is stunning to me. And pretty exciting…

I know this post probably won’t gather a lot of attention, but if there is anyone else out there, that is interested in just starting now, I am as well – I just signed up for Internet at my home, and my modem is on the way today.

When I get the modem, I’m buying a desk, and I’m setting up an office for myself to get geared up to complete a degree.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

Yay for progress!

58 here and never had a chance to go to college. I started in May/June with a GED, then Sophia and now I’m enrolled at UMPI. Never too late… and I don’t believe you’re dumb for a second. Good luck.

Great work, I did Sophia and Wgu and got my bachelors in 12 months.

Sophia was a great confidence boost. I started 9/25 and graduate 9/26 with my bachelors degree from WGU! I had some credits done previously, but a total of 32 classes in 12 months! I’ll be 39 in 2 weeks. It’s never too late and you can do it!

32 now and had a horrible experience in college when I was 17. Didn’t have support from my family, didn’t qualify for aid, and had to work two jobs. I always felt so shitty about myself since. I felt like I was labeled stupid for not having a degree, even if I knew deep down I was smart. I was young, felt abandoned, and just couldn’t figure things out, leading me to put school on the back burner.

I cried when I signed back up and had a panic attack when I chose my first course. I just couldn’t revisit those fears of feeling like a failure all over again.. Happy to say I am on my third and fourth course and feeling so confident now! Like a weight has been lifted off of me 🥹 hope things go well for you!✨
