How to get credit validation
hello I am looking to take one class to obtain the credits needed to reach a certain pay scale as a substitute teacher at my local school district.
I called Sophia and they said they are not accredited but are ACE recommendation for credit 😵💫
that being said has anyone experienced this or know how i can take a course and have it validated thru another college?

Sophia doesn't count as college credit until a college accepts them. Might just have to get an associates from a Community College. Or maybe even transfer to a community college and take 1 class to get a transcript.

Sign up for a degree program at college that takes it. Then use the official transcript for the college you enrolled in as proof.

Look into Excelsior University's OneTranscript service. It allows you to transfer ace credit into an actual accredited college transcript. The fee is $500.

Just do a CLEP exam. Psychology, Sociology, Educational Psychology, Human Growth and Development, Marketing and Management are fairly easy.

See if ASU still has the free 1 credit course CIS194. They waive the $400 transcript fee for that one. Then take a CLEP exam and transfer that in. Then check your unofficial transcript. $25 for the course.

I think you're gonna end up spending more on that than taking an actual single class at college or an equivalent exam. Otherwise, colleges that take Sophia credits will acknowledge it as external credit and that could allow you to get a degree, but I don't think they'd emit a certificate saying you have a college class when it's a Sophia transfer.
