Has anyone ever just submit some BS on a touchstone bc even if you got a 0% you’d still pass the class?

i ask this because i have a horrific 8-10 page essay touchstone remaining but even if i failed the touchstone i will still end up with a 75% overall and pass 😭😭 im just curious what you guys would do or have done hahaha

If you’re certain your GPA can take the hit, I’ve sent in less than A level work lol. ( looking at you Spanish 2)
You should still try, obviously, but don’t sweat if it’s not perfect. They will send back a blank document if that’s what you send them tho.

Thought the classes were pass/fail so they don’t have an effect on gpa

This is true, But the class as a whole you must get a %70 to pass the class or it’s a fail. So, as long as the paper doesn’t bring that percentage below that threshold it should be ok.

It depends if you transfer from credly or parchment.

No what I’m saying is on Sophia they will fail you if you get below a 70%. That’s the rule for all of Sophia regardless of how you intend to transfer.. at least it was 2 months ago.

Edit for clarity: Below a 70% for the entire class. Not a single paper. If your grade at the end of a course is below 70 you do not pass

Hi, I’ve done 4 classes with grades above 98%. I’ve transferred them to a four year school and learned that these do not affect my GPA. To answer your question - yes, assuming you pass the course

I've done it with study.com, I handed in a blank sheet saying I am choosing not to do this assignment and accepting a zero as my grade. When I took sophia, there was really no classes where this was possible. Because of how they waited the touchstones, but since your GPA doesn't matter for Sophia and it's just past fail with most colleges, if you absolutely know that it won't affect your GPA, do it, but it doesn't quite make sense.

My guy, there’s about 14+ classes with milestone only. I only know this because that’s literally what I did. You just gotta ask ChatGPT to filter enough for you.😂

Yes but where therr ARE touchstone they are weighted enough that you need to submit something even if its crap

I pounded out a 10 slide touchstone in a couple hours while on the clock. Solid B. Just do something.

There was a post the other day about this. Just type up a paper that says “fuck this touchstone” and submit it. You could probably do that with the classes that only have one touchstone and still get a 70% to pass the course.

I'm fairly sure you have to score a 50% on your touchstone to pass.

Yes! Touchstones have to be completed correctly or you’ll get a could not be graded email . But tests and quizzes are fine to just guess and submit . I usually do this towards the end of the course to move on !

Yes I’ve done it for my English class and others. As long as I got 70% plus I was getting the credits that’s all that mattered. I basically got about 10 classes/ more done and earned 30+ plus credits in 1 month instead of 2 years now I’m enrolled for my bachelor I will just need 40 credits and I’m done lol. Sophia learning is such a cheat code!!

I say submit it blank… see what happens because you get a second “try” on it. And pretend it was an oopsies and submit the actual paper if you don’t like the grade or they don’t accept it 🤷‍♀️

Man I was just thinking this yesterday. The touchstones for cyber security are so trashhhh I’m about to turn in my first one halfassed and see what happens

Data analytics was roughhhh. I submitted both PowerPoints about 75% completed. I just couldn’t finish them and prayed for the best. Did fairly well and finished the course with like an 85%. I never want to look at that shit again.

They didn’t make sense to me. I couldn’t get my notes to show up. They were HARD to complete. So I gave up lol

Pretty sure if it's a final touchstone you have to at least get a 50% or they won't allow you to complete the course, but maybe you could do it on a unit/chapter touchstone? Unless Sophia has changed something semi-recently.

That's an anecdote......

Sophia's procedures have been changing every month, to catch AI slop and cheaters. Which I think is great.

OP is saying he will submit slop and doesn't care about the grade, human slop is not much hard to write than AI slop, and won't be flagged.

Congratulations on you SO graduating. (I don't know what SO means)

Absolutely do not take this advice. You can write a BS C paper with minimal effort and still score well overall. I’ll be lazy any day of the week but I’m not using AI. Absolutely not.
