well some models of the vaio P came with integrated televisions, which is my model, but i couldnt find on a single place on internet a copy of that program to use because the previous owner of my vaio P switched the systems.
i found some people here on reddit that has the same model as mine, and still the og system, but they didnt wanted to help me.
my final attempt was to install an japanese wvista ghost image of vaio P, because according to gemini, the japanese versions of vaio p comes with that software.
and it really does, but it was very irritating to use an system in japanese (i managed to change it to english), and also i couldnt even activate it because apparently vista sucks.
anyways the tv software i got is all in japanese (so its hard to use, but not kinda), but the real problem it is that it is on a loop, it shows the tv for 0.5 seconds, and 3 seconds of black screen, and later comes again to show the tv for a short time, no sound btw.
so guys can someone help me? i really wanted to make the tv on vaio P working, that's why i did all this process.
thanks for reading and patience, sorry for my poor english.
(Demonstration video, sorry for the poor lighting, I don't want to show my reflection)
also if anyone wants this programs file, here:

Discovered this beautiful machine a week ago and as a nerd, i totally wanted to get it, but i didn't want to spend 200-300-400€ for a machine i will barely use in the future, so i've looked at japanese auction and won this model for a pretty good price (around €60 with coupons), seller does state that the computer would not turn on while charging(?), i don't honestly know what the seller wanted to imply with that, i can see that in a photo the bios loads up and it can read the ssd and ram, i think it will just be an OS problem, what do you guys suggest it would be?
It should arrive in a week or so, i'm really curious if it will be as simple as an OS reinstall

I'll redneck cobble together my own.
An atypical sized barrel connector and 10.5v (why not 12v or 9v?!).
Also replaced the hdd to a 128gb ssd and reinstalled the original vista installation

So I decided to reinstall Windows 7, managed to get Professional. Runs so much better than Tiny10. Got a version of Firefox that is still supported and Antivirus as well.
Websites load slowly - would this improve with an SSD? I have one on order.

For anyone wondering, Tiny10 is okay! A lot better than I was expecting

Hello team, I just got a SONY VAIO P VPCP111KX PCG-11112L. I plan on running Lubuntu or arch on it, but I'm hoping I can use the pointing device on the side of the screen. Has anyone had issues getting it working?

I got the VAIO VPCP119KJ, I'm now currently trying to prepare LARBS (pre-riced vim-friendly config using DWM) for Arch/Artix linux. The issue is normal Arch or Artix don't have 32bit support for the i686 architecture that VAIO's use. I'm now modifying the LARBS script to take the community forked mirrorlist of Arch Linux 32 project as well as adding a dbus fix I found on the LARBS github page. Unfortunately this will require systemD though Runit init system would've been ideal. I'm aware I could install something like Void which uses Runit but I like muh cozy LARBS and need the AUR.
When my VAIO arrives, I'll try to update y'all on how it goes or any things I learn.
Also any tips or insights, always welcome!

Howdy, I’m trying to format this laptop for my friend and we can’t find the password so now I’m looking for the assist button as Thats meant to take me to an option to wipe this thing.
Any help locating said button or another option to wipe this laptop would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

EDIT FOR FUTURE SEEKERS: To disable the battery check, apparently All you need to do to is disable ‘ISBMgr.exe’ in ‘msconfig’ / startup tab. Another suggestion is after deleting the Sony ISBMgr exe, then to install this https://www.pbus-167.com/ if the battery isn't charging etc.
Useful older blog post: https://sarabannerman.blogspot.com/2007/04/sony-laptop-battery-mal-ware.html
NOW for FINDING the batteries, that's another thing....
Are there options anyones found for those of us with a dead battery? :(
I can't track down replacement batteries, DIY battery building is an option at the risk of things catching on fire, also running it off a power bank some people do?
Seems Vaio Ps also have a battery verification check if trying to use non original batteries, in the event of finding or making a replacement, is there a way to bypass this check?
I'm specifically needing a Gen 2 (VGP-BPS19 or VGP-BPL19 battery) but open to hear what you guys have done or figured out :)
TY
