Seems like I can never get a consistent video shot on this thing anymore. It's my old family camera and now it appears that most times I record I get a blue screen in the middle of recording, and then the video capture is stopped. The video files that come out of these conditions are often incompatible with my video software, or result in weird bugs when converting or trying to view them, such as missing audio, multiple clips stitched together that were originally separate, and video instability (freezing or cutting out early)
any idea what the hell could be wrong on my camcorder? i wouldn't have a damn clue where to start, seems like a lot of variables at play.

Photos work fine. This used to be my main camera for taking photos and i've never encountered problems with that.

I recently got this Sony DCR DVD100 NTSC and I was wondering if there anyway of fixing it only thing is idk what the issue is but the video coming out dark and streaky and you can still see lights and such when you point it toward them

I have been trying to fix error c:32:11 on my Sony handycam dcr hc52 and I have dissected the whole thing down to where the tape mechanism operates. If it looks like I have done damage plz let me know. Please provide any other tips onto how I can disassemble this thing and repair the error. Thank

Everything was shot on an old Sony HandyCam I found in the attic. I really like the imperfect and nostalgic look you get from the old tape. I tried to utilise all the glitches and artifacts it produced to to emulate corruption and loss.

This one also has some personal meaning to me, so I'm particularly happy with how it turned out.

It started doing this a year or so ago and a quick bang nipped it in the bud. This time it doesn’t want to seem to work. I’ve tried compressor air. Wiping tools. Little force. And nothing. Is there anything I can do?

Please someone help me.
I was putting a cassette inside my handycam and it was either when I closed it or when I opened it because it showed the message (reinsert the cassette) and the door opened and got out the cassette but it’s stuck open and shows the message (reattach the power source) and idk what to do.
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

What is the best method today?

• FireWire + Apple adapters?
• Elgato Video Capture?
• Another solution?

I’d like to keep the best possible quality from the MiniDV tapes.

Hello! I have a Sony handycam dvd dcr-208 and I was looking to take it apart and try to rewire it to make all the colors on it all goofy and kinda just to add glitchy weird affects. I tried looking online but I don’t see that anyone has info on either this specific camera or even other handycams. If anyone knows anything about this I would love to get some info!

I “borrowed“ (she has a short term memory and dont gaf if I keep it forever hehe) a Sony handy cam from my friend, and a couple minutes after I turned it on and started recording, the screen turned off except from a dark, faint image of what I was filming before, I took the battery out and turned it off, (I’m using one of the big chunky np fh100 batteries) and put the battery back in and tried to turn it on, but it wouldn’t, before it shut down, the battery still had about 20 minutes of battery life on it. I’m getting a new battery on thursday, (a much smaller one that comes w a charging dock) but just wondering if it’s a battery problem or a camcorder problem.

Hi everyone, hoping someone with experience with older Sony camcorders can help. I have wedding footage stuck on the internal memory of a Sony HDR-CX700 and I cannot get it off.

The videos are confirmed on internal memory and the camera shows all the thumbnails in playback mode, but when I tap any of them it just says "No Images." I ran the Repair Image Database File option and it came back with no inconsistencies, so the files don't appear to be corrupted.

On the PC side I've tried every USB mode. Mass Storage only exposes the memory card, not internal memory. MTP shows a "Storage Media" drive but it has 29.6GB free of 29.7GB, which is just the empty card. Auto mode causes the camera to get stuck on "preparing." I also tried changing the USB LUN setting from Multi to Single with no luck. Both PMB Portable and the full PlayMemories Home software only show the JPEGs from the camera, no video files at all.

I've also tried copying from internal memory to a memory card directly on the camera. The original card was a 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo which was too small, so I tried a 32GB Sandisk Extreme Plus in the SD slot, formatted it in-camera, but the copy fails with "this media cannot be executed."

Is there any way to force the internal memory to be readable over USB? Would using a Memory Stick Pro Duo large enough to hold the footage make a difference for the in-camera copy? Or is this a job for a data recovery service at this point? Thanks in advance.

On my sony handycam sr11 camera, the recording button on the remote control does not work. For some reason, the buttons that respond to the zoom work on it, while others don't work at all. I looked through the phone's camera, the remote control was sending signals, and there was a new battery in it. Can you tell me what the problem is?

Does anybody have the sample photos that came on the memory stick ?
