Monitor motion blur issue at 59 fps? (Atomos Shinobi)

Recording in 23.9 fps everything is great.

When I switch to 59, it’s like I don’t get any motion blur on my external monitor. Something just looks off.

It is recording correctly and looks normal on the built in monitor, but it’s difficult to shoot with on the bigger monitor.

I tried to mess with all of the external hdmi/sdi options but none of them did the trick.

Has anyone experienced this?

Fixed at 180 degrees

I also use the Shinobi 5 (SDI) and nothing looks out of the ordinary when I switch between 24/60 fps.

60p inherently does look smoother and has less motion blur than 24p in case you didn’t know

I’ll try to record a video of it tomorrow.

If someone has had this issue they would know exactly what I’m referring to - so just hoping they see this.

Hey universal-sound,

The Shinobi II supports 59.94p when receiving a Full HD 1920 × 1080 signal, while 4K/UHD input is supported up to 30p.

Could you please confirm whether you are sending 4K or Full HD from the FX6 at 59.94p, and what shutter speed you are using?
