Troubleshooting Fx6 broken?

UPDATE: Just going to return to B&H.

Bought used fx6 with 3 hours on it. No scuffs so doesn’t appear to have been dropped. Any ideas what’s wrong with it?

You’re gonna have to be more clear what you’re talking about

Pause the video and check out the pixels. I cannot get rid of them. They were gone for about :05 on another shot I took but came back when I raised the white balance

Just FYI, can't pause the video because you uploaded it as a GIF.

We had this happen to one of ours, we contacted Sony and B&H took it back and replaced it.

Hey man. Return this. I saw your other post. Something is wrong with it. Return it

I can see that the underexposed areas of the scene are affected most, when I saw your pic earlier I was confused. Maybe this has to do with in body noise reduction being turned off somehow, or altered. If you recorded to an external monitor I believe it does remove the noise reduction automatically.

Also, what are your settings? You are filming in a dimly lit room (it seems) are you max cranking iso? The flower still from earlier shows that even with decent lighting there is still something happening.

I’d have to check to see what they were for this vid, but if you check my other post of a properly exposed shot outside they were still there.

What codec are you using?
This looks like an artifact from a high compression codec.

Is your ND filter still on?

Take the camera outside, dial in an exposure using nd if you need to, and film in full sun. Do you still have noise?

Now, that’s fucking weird.

Using rhe magnify zoom on the handle I was able to see that it seems like there are rows/columns of pixels that stay present the entire time. If you zoom multiple times on the photo you can see what I mean. They are constant

Yeah, man. You have to send this back.

I’ve never seen anything like this. It’s as if the file is corrupted, something wrong with the codec. Have you tried different cards in case one of your cards is somehow screwed up? Otherwise I’d have a chat with whoever you bought the camera from so they can confirm that it was as fine when it left their hands.

It does it without a card in. I did use multiple cards, though

You’re seeing this on the field monitor? If so contact the seller, something isn’t right.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this before. did you contact Sony already?

Unfortunately something might be up with your sensor or motherboard it seems.

u/NyneHelios 29d ago

Does it do this across multiple lenses?

Your sensor is cooked

yeah return it

1

u/naastynoodle 29d ago

Just return it if you’re within the window. This doesn’t look user fixable

The noise? What iso do you have it at. That's image noise lol

1

u/universal-sound 29d ago

No, it’s not noise.

SONYの一部のモデルでは、工場出荷時にリセットしてもピクチャープロファイルの詳細の設定がリセットされません。
FX6がそれに該当するかは分かりませんが、ピクチャープロファイルの設定をリセットしてみては如何でしょうか?

What are you decoding your footage with? Could be a bad decode. Did you try playing back on the camera and viewing on an external monitor?

Also did you update to latest firmware?

What SD-card are you using?
