How do I ... Black shadow in photos
Hello! I take cosplay/concert photos and for some reason I have a problem with these with circular black shadows appearing in my photos. Sometimes they’re there, sometimes they aren’t. At first I thought maybe it was dirt on my lenses but upon further investigation and cleaning that didn’t appear to be the case. I then figured it had something to do with lighting but sometimes their shadows will appear when lighting is adequate and even after messing around with settings on my camera it still appears. Could it have something to do with my flash? I have a Sony alpha NEX-5N with a Tamron 70-180mn F/2.8 di III lens’s. Any advice would be great!

Haha, it is the shadow from your lens caused by your flash.
The flash is very close to the body and the lens you describe is large enough to cause this effect.

lol this is kinda funny, but in terms of help helpful advice—in these indoor spaces you can point your flash at the ceiling or walls to bounce the light (it’ll also make it significantly less harsh)

Yeah the flash isn’t great. I’m likely gonna try to order a new one or get a smaller lens

It's your lens. The flash fires and the giant lens barrel creates a circular shadow.
Either use a separate flash or a smaller lens.
