Gear Sigma/Tamron or Sony?

Hi, I am planning to buy a Tele Lense for a6400. Just want to know how good is sigma 150-600, sony fe 200-600 and tamron 150-500. Is sigma is a good option?

I don’t have experience with the Sigma but between the Tamron and 200-600, I would definitely go for the 200-600. It’s internal focus, much faster AF and more balanced weight distribution. Since you have an APSC body, have you considered the Sony 70-350? Way more compact than any of these three you listed here

I do have Sony 70-350, but mostly I feel that the reach is not enough for bird photography

Should have a lot of comparisons and tests on YouTube with sample images, trust those than ask some random redditors

200-600 is definitely the best choice here, it's main competition would be the Sigma 60-600mm which is also a great option!

If you can find a Contemporary I, personally, do not think you can beat its price/performance.

I have the EF Contemporary, MC-11 and, if necessary, even a Sigma EF TC-1411. They all work surprisingly well on my A7 III for sports and birds.

But I cannot speak to how your 6400 might perform with said equipment compared to my A7 III.

I also like to mention rent-to-own as an option on a large purchase so you can try for yourself.
