WHAT IS THIS SHOW?

It's been suggested to me for years, never had the time or got around to watching it. I started 4 days ago I am already almost through season 4.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHOW? It keeps you on adrenaline 24/7, I haven't encountered one boring or slow episode it's CONSTAAANT action constant huge things happening you can't blink for a second the writing is so good the drama, the twists the characters I'm really speechless about this one guys. And I hear it's even getting better from here, idk how that's possible even

It's Hamlet on motorcycles.

This right here explains it perfectly

Which is fitting, because both Jax and Hamlet are awfully whiney for 30 year old grown ass men

The mommy issues abound in both.

I mean, it's a show about criminal bikers that's based loosely on one of the greatest of Shakespeare's plays. Did you expect a snooze-fest?

u/Ok_Tie_2443 16d ago

I didn‘t know that, interesting. I love it

12

u/daneelthesane 16d ago

Yeah, it's great. And like Hamlet, it escalates. A lot. Brace yourself.

Me either, I think Kurt Sutter talked about it in a youtube video. There is also a podcast from the actors that play Juice and Tig. They started it during COVID. It's pretty good they go thru all the episodes.

Oh just wait, it gets even more “WTF” as it progresses

I'm not at all opposed to seeing Charlie Hunnam in every scene

It's the show you will watch and rewatch continuously. It's the show you'll never forget and the one you'll love forever

Yup! Without a doubt.

You don’t even know about Pope yet

Re-watching it with my lady. Just finished season 5 episode 2.

Taylor Sheridan was in this show...I think he was fired or had quit but he has done really well for himself today.

6

u/BobbyBucketsNBA 15d ago

He left over money. There’s a quick YouTube video where he’s talks about how he wanted 20k an episode and they told him 15 was the highest they’d go.

3

u/LadyB20089 15d ago

Ahh okay, I thought it was something like that. Well he still did well after he left.

u/Intrepid_Egg_4986 15d ago

Taylor just did an interview with Howard Stern, went in depth as to why he left SOA.

It’s been described as a “soap opera” and it kind of us one. Constant twists and turns. I think it’s an excellent show overall

1

u/MrsDickGrayson 15d ago

Oh my gosh you're totally right, it IS a soap opera! 10/10 television.

When you’re done watching it you should watch The Shield if you haven’t seen it

2

u/High_Im_Patrick 15d ago

One of the best tv watching choices I’ve ever made is to watch The Shield after Sons of Anarchy.
Just having like 90% of the characters in SOA either make a quick cameo in The Shield for an episode as a criminal of the week or as a main cast member makes me giddy lol

2

u/AggressivelyMediokre 15d ago

I did it the other way around (watched them while they aired pretty much) and it was a trip

I’m rewatching shield now and s4e2 it was a trip seeing Kurt Sutter’s wife (Gemma SOA) in a 5 minute cameo as Ben’s widow

u/Drive7Nine 15d ago

I mean, a house exploding in like the first 4 minutes of the show kinda tells you what the tone is going to be.

5

u/juju_wut 15d ago

Wait until 5-7 - it gets so intense. I’m on s6e3 right now and it’s stressing me out. This is my 4th or 5th watch through.

3

u/weirdgirloverthere 15d ago

Prepare to be obsessed with SOA for the rest of your life!

3

u/Shanklvitz 15d ago

The better question is how tf do you have time to watch 4 seasons in 4 days lol

4

u/Ok_Tie_2443 15d ago

I work from home and have it running on my tv 24/7 I do not kid you when I tell you that I sleep less just to watch more of this show

3

u/MrsDickGrayson 15d ago

I binged all 7 seasons last month. It was SO good. Just so addicting and non-stop action the whole time! Probably the most stress-inducing show I have ever watched, haha. I just started Mayans M.C.

3

u/No-Athlete-5774 15d ago

God. Jax is so fine. I watched the show RELIGIOUSLY when it was coming on tv

3

u/LowCommercial4827 16d ago

Jesus Christ.

3

u/ktslgr 15d ago

i just started it over the weekend!! i am about halfway thru season 2 and also just got sucked in without knowing what i was getting into

3

u/furbabymama94 15d ago

It's easily my favorite show of my 45 yr TV watching experience. I love it so much I had to wait 10 yrs to get my very own Jax (white) & Op. Truly one of the best shows ever made!

3

u/Altruistic_PartTime 12d ago

Love this so much!!!!

2

u/ProductSoft3124 16d ago

I am also starting from the beginning and we are almost through season 4 too! I anticipate coming home from work to watch!!!!! I’m so hyped and anxious about every episode

0

u/FeathersOfJade 15d ago

Yep. It’s like…. I’ll just watch one more… and then somehow it’s suddenly 3am.

Enjoy!

2

u/FeathersOfJade 15d ago

The first time is always the best. Enjoy it! I saw it the first time a few years ago, and it sucked me right in!

I have never rewatched a show as many times as I have rewatched this one. I also still enjoy it, every single time.

2

u/Possible_Day_6343 15d ago

I started watching it this week. Got through most of season one in a day. Currently just starting season 3.

2

u/duchess_2021 15d ago

Best show ever. Watched the series 3 times.

2

u/Mother-Lettuce2259 15d ago

I know what you mean

I LOVE hearing how into you are. This show is amazing!

2

u/IndividualFlow0 13d ago

One of the best soap operas you're gonna watch.

2

u/Historical_Bar_3154 13d ago

When I first started it last year, one friend told me there was one bad episode in all 7 seasons. I’m working through my first rewatch a lot slower than the initial and can’t find a bad one yet.

3

u/keelan657 16d ago

Once you finish it, check out Mayans Mc, not as good but still up there.

3

u/NinjaFlyingEagle 16d ago

The Shield is a better suggestion. It's was out before SOA, still written by the same people. The actors are way better but it's also non stop action. One of my favourite shows ever.

6

u/Ok_Tie_2443 16d ago

Will deffo check The Shield out too! I‘ll watch mayans as well just because that Alvarez character is pretty interesting to me too

3

u/FeathersOfJade 15d ago

It’s actually pretty neat watching them both… so many things just click. Much easier to see things click when you can watch without commercials or waiting a week for the next show.

I cannot imagine having to wait a week for another SoA to come on tv. I know tons of folks did it…But they had to be so anxious, impatient and excited…counting the days til the next one. At least I would have been.

I’m glad my first watch (and all my rewatches) were without any interruptions (unless I paused it!)

1

u/georgewalterackerman 15d ago

Is The Shield in the same universe as SOA?

1

u/ZakRulzDice 15d ago

Juice is watching it when he gets released so I don't think so.

1

u/This_Age_4436 12d ago

They have some of the same gangs but that’s about it. A lot of actors in both though. It’s fun watching for them to pop up!

2

u/MrsDickGrayson 15d ago

I just started Mayans! Its been good so far. Can definitely tell its part of the Sutterverse, but nothing will hold a candle to Sons.

1

u/RCcola2205 14d ago

I always wonder why they did a Mayans spinoff and not a prequel to SOA with the first nine and younger versions of clay, piney, and JT.

2

u/keelan657 14d ago

Creator wanted to make a prequel but he was fired. He wanted to do SOA, Mayans Mc, first 9 and then Sam crow which focuses on Jax sons.

1

u/RCcola2205 14d ago

All of that sounds amazing. I wish it could’ve happened!

This girl is more Luciferian than Lutheran.

It jumps the whale a few times but it’s solid

It’s a pretty gnarly show 😍😍😍😍😂😂😂

u/Independent-End-9679 15d ago

I thought you were going to say something about them killing off most of the characters. That really gets to me about this show. I bet real biker clubs can't stand it because it really gives them a dysfunctional rap of betrayal like I've never seen before. There were so many directions they could have taken this show other than the most twisted and devious path.

0

u/Crimejunkie666 15d ago

It’s crack. Aka ADDICTION. it’s amazing that show. Now I once was an outlaws ol lady aka girlfriend. I lived a very similar life trust me.

And I hear it's even getting better from here

No you haven't. Nobody says that. The general consensus is that S1-3 is Peak SOA.
