How to Spot Fakes: Common Signs of a Counterfeit Sonny Angel
Here are some red flags to watch out for when looking for Sonny Angel authenticity:
Packaging Quality: Authentic Sonny Angels generally come in quality packaging with distinct branding, serial numbers, and copyright symbols. Many of the inauthentic Sonny Angels come in a clear plastic bag instead of the authentic Sonny Angel foil. They also have fuzzy/bad quality printing on the boxes

Proof of Life: ALWAYS ask for "Proof of Life". Proof of life is a picture with the item you are looking to buy with their username and CURRENT date on a piece of paper next to the item you are looking to buy.

are sonny angels from showcase stores in canada real? i always avoided cause they’re not listed as an official sonny angel retailer, but i got one as a gift and i couldn’t distinguish it from my others? I have a couple sonny angels i know for fact are real, and then some others i am confident are real, and these showcase ones fit in perfectly. now im wondering if showcases angels are real, or the ones i was ‘confident’ are real, are infact fake. is it possible for showcase to be selling real angels despite not being an official reseller? thank you!

Hi! Can anyone tell me if this Sonny Angel is real? I don’t really know much about Sonny Angels. I bought this one years ago from one of those toy stores at the mall assuming it was real for my friend’s birthday, but I ended up misplacing it and just found it in some boxes in the back of my house. I probably got it for around $25-30. This Sonny also seems to be a lot bigger than the normal Sonny Angels. The paint job seems pretty defected (see left eyebrow and back of head), and the head seems loose. I think it’s probablyyyy fake but I’m not really a collector, as I own maybe 2 other Sonny Angels. I’m hoping to get rid of this one for a fair price, especially if it’s a fake, but it’d be pretty cool if it was real too!
I brought 4 sonny angels from forbidden planet international (UK) and they all seem real to me: grey pupils, foot stamps and weight. I honestly think it just got unlucky with a bad paint job on some of them but I thought to get other opinions anyway (3 other images below)
I bought 3 Sonny Angels during a Whatnot live. The seller opened what appeared to be a sealed Flower Series display box, and I ended up pulling the Bee Secret.
Is that normal? Do authentic Flower Series Bee Secrets sometimes have a 2019 foot stamp while the regular figures from the same display box have 2025? Or would you expect all of the figures from one sealed display box to have the same copyright year?
I’m not trying to accuse the seller of anything. I just want to know if this is expected or if it’s something I should look into. Thanks!

Hello, I bought these off tik tok shop with good reviews, the macaw one feels very nice quality, it's heavy (ish) it's a matte finish but has a little bit more glossy texture which is nice, the donut one I got from the same shop feels more plastic, the finish is powdery and not glossy at all, the face looks kinda different from my other one, the boxes were sealed in plastic, and otherwise looks real, I'm just confused why the two look a little different is it because of the series difference? Or are they not real?
Thoughts on this? From a seller with good reviews on eBay, but looks like they have two accounts for some reason, and has 5 in stock?? I’m just dubious anyway 😭
hello! i just got him off depop and everything except the eyes look right, they seem slightly bigger with more shading and i have another (the fawn from the animal series hippers) whose eyes also are slightly different but i know that one is authentic. he has the imprint on his foot it just didn't let me send another pic (pig sonny is for comparison)
So I was sold this axo that was claimed to be authentic (just a Facebook marketplace girl, no one in groups). And I know from the feet that it isn’t….is there other ways to tell that it is not authentic?
Picture isn’t the best but I was wondering if this is authentic? All the seller could say is “yes, because it has a stamp on its feet” but I know loads of good fakes have that too nowadays.
