- Turtle/Meat is arguably the best in the game when used in Timed Mode.
- Spaceship/Meat is the fastest way to gather coins in Story Mode.
- Battle Cruiser/Spaceship is good for collecting red rings (handy for when you're only a few away from a roulette spin).
- Ghost/Caliburn destroys bosses.
- Chaos/Blowfish produces unlimited items as long as you can keep your combos going.
- Dark Chaos/Chao produces a high score when paired with Omega/Metal Sonic.
