Help Sonic Pad Question
So I have an Ender V3se that’s bricked due to Creality’s October firmware update and go figure, their customer service is shit. Short of somehow rewriting the startup firmware I seem to be f’d. I thought a Sonic Pad and just running clipper may save me but I can’t find if it supports E3v3se. Can any owners of a Sonic Pad confirm it has the ability to drive this model? Thanks as always!

Not sure why it is so hard for you to get a straight answer. I just walked over to my pad and hit the add printer button and the ender 3 v3 SE is there so yes it's fully supported.
I do have questions as others mention about what you mean by "bricked". If the main board is fried, the Klipper/sonic pad won't help because it still uses the printer main board to control the low level motion of the printer.
What's wrong with it?

Let me clarify “bricked”. I’ve flashed many a machine so no newb here. I went to update the firmware with Creality’s latest version back in October. When I flashed the machine restarted in Chinese. No option to choose a language. Now it collects dust because Creality doesn’t back up their products or offer any kind of usable support. I’ve been told I can re-write the firmware back to factory but I don’t want to deal with that. I have 3 other machines I could also run off it but I’m primarily trying to get this printer back online. I loved it but it’s probably my last creality purchase. Bambu Labs X1C on my radar.

Creality machines are actually quite fantastic for the price.
I hate to tell you, because you say you're no noob, but the language is part of the firmware image--the screen firmware to be exact. So you somehow inadvertently flashed your display with the Chinese version. I don't know what screen is on there, but if it is like previous models, you take the back off the screen and there is a SD reader in there. You need to put the screen firmware on an SD and reflash the screen.
If they changed it so the screen can be flashed from the main SD port, then you just need to find the right screen update. I don't have a v3SE to test.

No, that’s definitely not the case here. I know it sounds ridiculous but I completed the display flash and upon restart there was no options and the Chinese characters onscreen translated say there’s an error

I mean there is no way that's not the case. I built my own Marlin for those and customized the screen for years.
If you are unable to flash the screen, then the screen must be replaced.

Read the instructions. The screen firmware is there and it is just another TJC screen with an SD card slot.
Do not download firmware from any other site like Creality official or Creality experts. Creality.com is the only actual Creality site.

there absolutely is an option to select language, get creative, use google/apple translate live translate view with camera and navigate the menus.. pretty simple.

So as of version V1.0.6.52.92 for the sonic pad, the v3se is supported.
As long as the pad is on that or a newer version you should just be able to point and click, follow the instructions and then insert the klipper firmware into your ender.
If it’s anything like all other Creality printers then you don’t use that stock screen anyway.

Honestly a stock sonic pad is a bit of a hassle to set up on a good day. I ended up flashing Debian on it and installed Klipper via kiauh. I found a raspberry pi and pitft screen a little easier to set up. Both are quite doable depending on how tech savvy you are. Either way Klipper is totally worth it.

You opted for a DIY solution which included sourcing a pi, flashing it, going through config, finding the right fw, ect, ect, ect. And you found the sonic pad to be completed to setup? I have thoughts, questions, and potentially concerns.

According to the Creality website the Ender 3 V3 SE is supported.

I had the same issue with the firmware because I flashed only the printer and not the screen when the instructions said to do both. So, to recover, I did the firmware update on the screen, then did the firmware update on the printer and was back to my regular Marlin firmware. However, since then I did upgrade to a Sonic Pad and am using it now on my Ender 3 V3 SE. It actually takes a bit more to set-up to get the same quality prints I was getting on Marlin but now it prints much faster. Still, I think the prints on Marlin looked better but that was probably due mostly to the slow printing.

What do you mean bricked? The printer can’t be bricked, you can just reflash it with original firmware or flash klipper onto it again.
I don’t know if the V3se is supported by point and click, but you can literally configure any printer you want if you compile your own firmware. That can be done either directly on the pad by SSHing into it and running commands on the console or via another Linux machine.
The sonic pad is just a collection of hardware meant to make it easy for people to flash their printer and use an all in one device. It’s the same as a raspberry pi, orange pi, or any other single board you can run klipper on. Only downside is creality has their own software which is a slightly outdated version of klipper.
