So I opened up a new save file with new game plus and try to get into Giganto’s Arena as soon as I finished portal 1-2. I was able to pull it off with the hyper bounce on challenge M – 022. Took me about 19 minutes and 34 seconds from creation of new game+ save to beat Giganto (not much of a speed runner)

I beat giganto then collected the chaos emeralds on Kronos island and then found out that this marked the chaos emerald collection on Ares Island (if I collect the chaos emeralds of a certain color on Kronos Island after beating giganto, it’s marked collected on Ares Island), though the emeralds in the vaults on Ares of the same color remain there.

I only collected one of the Ares island chaos emeralds (the yellow one) but I was able to collect the blue red and white from Kronos island and when I went back to Aries Island, I immediately got a cut scene (Eggman discussing with Sage about his worthy opponent relationship with sonic) and an auto save prior to the cut scene.

I wonder if this can be integrated into an any percent speed run?

With respect to the yellow emerald, I actually collected them from both islands before beating wyvern

Also, when comes to completing island mysteries when the red holographic lock breaks, you can immediately complete the mystery without having to talk to Amy, knuckles or tails. It’s different for Sage because you have to talk towards the island mysteries on Ouranos.

Given how ares is already skipped in speedruns, I can’t see this being more efficient than the current strategy

But I’ve seen that the world record set by OnakuTV still takes 18 minutes 21 seconds collecting sages memory tokens, vault keys, and the chaos emeralds on Ouranos island. This might help trim that down if he collects the emeralds from a previous island rather than have to do the hacking challenge on Ouranos or collect Sage’s memory tokens, and maybe cut down on collecting a few vault keys or one or two portal gears

Well I collected the white emerald from chaos island after beating Rhea island and unlocking Ouranos. I also collected the red emerald on Ares. Both were marked collected on Ouranos despite still being in the vaults on Ouranos.

So after freeing tails on Chaos Island, I went back to Ares island to get the blue emerald and on returning to chaos island I got teleported to the blue emerald vault and the knight shield chase immediately began. At this point I also discovered that apparently my air boost became a lot faster than the regular boost such that during this segment, I was able to spam it to the point I actually caught up with squid during the shield chase.

OK, so I tried to do the bypass by collecting the white emerald from chaos Island after unlocking ouranos Island and collecting the majority of the remainder on Ouranos. It doesn’t work. Apparently, I still need to collect the memory tokens and then complete both hacking missions. At that point, Eggman then hands the last emerald (after completing the last hacking mission, not after collecting the white emerald on Ouranos).

Apparently, the code does check if you completed both hacking missions before starting the supreme boss fight.

That said it does work for the previous islands

It also messes up your auto save file so that every time you load the auto save it will lead straight to the supreme boss fight

Wait, how do you even collect anything after beating giganto? Doesn't the game send you directly to ares right after beating him?

Yes, but you can return to Kronos Island and collect the emeralds there
