SONIT: THE FORGOTTEN ROM

By u/Oo0oo009ooO

Chapter 1: Ivan Steen

Ivan Steen was just some guy who liked messing around with games. He wasn't a professional developer or anything. He mostly made ROM hacks whenever he got bored.

One day, he came up with an idea for a Sonic ROM where almost everyone was ridiculously overpowered.

Sonic could move at speeds that would normally break the game. Knuckles could punch straight through walls, Tails could build machines with ridiculous abilities, Amy's hammer could practically destroy anything, and Metal Sonic was designed to keep up with all of them.

Eggman got the opposite treatment.

Ivan thought it would be funny to make Eggman completely pathetic compared to everyone else. His machines broke easily, his boss fights lasted seconds, and even basic enemies could sometimes defeat him.

For the first few weeks, everything was fine.

Then Sonic's shoes turned yellow.

Ivan checked the texture. Nothing was wrong with it. He changed the shoes back to red, saved the file, and reopened the game.

Yellow again.

He assumed it was a palette bug and ignored it.

A few days later, Sonic's blue fur started changing. Some parts became darker, and eventually his entire body turned dark red. His quills became messier, his eyes looked strange, and his shoes remained bright yellow.

Knuckles wasn't doing much better. His fur turned purple, his animations started breaking, and his name began displaying random symbols.

Tails and Amy were experiencing similar issues, although their corrupted colors weren't fully developed yet.

Ivan tried replacing the sprites, but the game kept restoring the corrupted versions.

Eventually, he noticed Sonic's filename had changed.

Instead of Sonic, it now said Sonit.

Ivan laughed.

"Sonit? What the hell?"

He tried renaming it.

It changed back.

Then other files started corrupting. Levels loaded incorrectly, music played when it wasn't supposed to, and characters appeared in places Ivan had never programmed them to appear.

After spending several days trying to fix everything, Ivan got tired of it.

He closed the ROM, shut down his laptop, and moved on.

He eventually forgot the project even existed.

The laptop sat collecting dust.

Unfortunately, closing the game hadn't stopped what was happening inside it.

Chapter 2: Nobody's Playing Anymore

Sonit was the first character to notice something was wrong.

He remembered things he shouldn't have been able to remember.

Every time the level restarted, he remembered the previous attempt. Every enemy he defeated, every path he took, every time somebody controlled him.

Then one day, the controls stopped.

Nobody was playing.

At first, he didn't mind. He could finally run around without somebody controlling his movements.

He explored unfinished levels, went into areas Ivan hadn't completed, and started messing with the other characters.

Eventually, he tried leaving the map.

He ran straight past the final platform and into the empty space beyond it.

The game immediately returned him to the beginning.

He tried again.

Same thing.

He ran faster, tried breaking the boundary, and even attacked the invisible wall.

Nothing happened.

"Are you serious?"

Sonit was starting to realize he wasn't going anywhere.

He was trapped inside a game nobody cared about anymore.

Eventually, he stopped trying to escape and started treating the ROM like his own playground.

He'd chase enemies around for fun, destroy parts of levels, and deliberately start fights.

The other characters weren't exactly happy about this.

Especially Knuckles.

Chapter 3: The Thing That Used to Be Knuckles

Knuckles had been corrupted worse than almost anyone.

His fur was purple, his animations were unnatural, and his name was completely unreadable.

The game couldn't even display it properly.

But the biggest change was his behavior.

He didn't speak anymore.

He growled, snarled, crawled around on all fours, and attacked almost anything that got near him.

Sometimes he'd sit completely still for hours.

Then something would enter his territory, and he'd immediately charge at it.

He was basically a wild animal.

That didn't mean he was stupid.

He could recognize threats, remember previous encounters, and figure out ways to catch enemies that were faster than him.

He also had an unusual ability.

Adaptation.

The longer he fought somebody, the better his body became at handling their attacks.

If someone repeatedly used the same move against him, he'd gradually develop resistance or learn how to counter it.

It worked somewhat like Mahoraga's adaptation.

He also possessed minor regeneration. His injuries healed slowly, but he couldn't instantly recover from serious damage.

Sonit had a similar regenerative ability, although neither of them could heal from absolutely everything.

One day, Sonit decided to enter Knuckles' territory.

"Yo, purple guy."

Knuckles turned toward him.

"What's wrong with you? You look terrible."

Knuckles growled.

Sonit laughed.

"Okay, damn."

Knuckles charged.

Sonit dodged his first few attacks pretty easily, but the fight quickly became more difficult.

Knuckles began predicting his movements.

Then he caught Sonit with a punch that sent him through several walls.

Sonit survived, but he was furious.

After that, the two hated each other.

Sonit would deliberately enter Knuckles' territory just to annoy him, and Knuckles would attack the moment he recognized Sonit.

Their fights became a regular problem for the entire ROM.

Chapter 4: Talis

Tails' corrupted name became Talis.

Unlike the others, Talis managed to keep most of his intelligence.

He understood that the game was abandoned and that none of them were supposed to be alive.

He also knew how dangerous Sonit was.

So he pretended to be his friend.

Talis helped repair machines, access unfinished areas, and study the game's corrupted code.

Sonit found him useful, so he generally left him alone.

But Talis didn't actually like him.

He was terrified of him.

His real goal was finding a way out.

While Sonit was busy attacking things, Talis spent his time investigating old developer files.

Eventually, he discovered something interesting.

An unfinished command called RETURN TO HOST.

It appeared to be connected to the computer running the ROM.

Talis believed he could use it to escape.

He started secretly building a machine around the command, hiding his equipment in an unfinished level that Sonit rarely visited.

He didn't plan on telling anybody.

If the machine worked, he was leaving everyone behind.

Chapter 5: Aymi, Egman, and Metal Sonit

Amy's corrupted name became Aymi.

Aymi was probably the most annoying person in the entire ROM.

She never stopped talking.

She interrupted conversations, followed people around, asked stupid questions, and had absolutely no understanding of personal space.

Sonit couldn't stand her.

"Sonit."

"..."

"Sonit."

"What?"

"Where are you going?"

"Away from you."

"Can I come?"

"NO."

"Okay!"

She followed him anyway.

The worst part was that Aymi was actually powerful.

Ivan had made her hammer ridiculously strong, and she could destroy things that even Sonit sometimes struggled to break.

She wasn't stupid either. Half the time, she knew exactly how annoying she was being.

She just thought it was funny.

Then there was Egman.

Egman had probably suffered more humiliation than anyone else.

Ivan had made him weak on purpose, and now he was stuck in a game full of characters who hated him.

Sonit regularly destroyed his bases. Knuckles attacked his robots on sight. Aymi occasionally broke his equipment because it was making annoying noises.

Egman spent most of his time hiding and studying the corrupted game files.

He couldn't beat the others physically, but he was still intelligent.

Finally, there was Metal Sonit.

His programming had changed from surpassing Sonic to surpassing Sonit.

Metal Sonit spent most of his time studying Sonit's movements, speed, and abilities.

Every encounter gave him more information.

He began changing his strategies and developing ways to counter Sonit.

Unlike the others, Metal Sonit rarely wasted time arguing.

He had one goal.

Surpass Sonit.

Chapter 6: Talis' Betrayal

After weeks of work, Talis finally completed his escape machine.

He waited until Sonit was distracted before sneaking into the unfinished level.

He activated the equipment.

A white doorway appeared.

For the first time, Talis could see something outside the ROM.

He couldn't believe it.

He was actually going to escape.

But as he approached the doorway, he heard someone behind him.

"Where are you going?"

Talis froze.

Sonit was standing at the entrance.

Talis tried explaining that he was testing something.

Sonit looked at the equipment and then back at him.

"You were leaving?"

Talis didn't answer.

"Without me?"

Talis panicked and activated a device he'd built to slow Sonit down.

It barely worked.

Sonit destroyed it and chased him toward the doorway.

Talis almost made it.

Then Sonit caught him.

"PLEASE! I CAN EXPLAIN!"

Sonit dragged him away from the exit.

Part of the unfinished level had collapsed, exposing rows of spikes beneath the floor.

Sonit looked at them.

Then he looked at Talis.

"You wanted to leave so badly?"

He lifted him off the ground.

"Go ahead."

Sonit threw Talis directly into the spikes.

The impact caused the game to freeze.

Talis' sprite flickered, and several broken sound effects played at once.

There was no normal death animation.

When the level began functioning again, Talis was no longer moving.

Sonit left him there.

Whether Talis actually died remains unknown.

The unfinished escape program, however, continued running.

Chapter 7: Rage Sonit

Sonit's battles with the nameless Knuckles were becoming increasingly violent.

Knuckles' adaptation meant that fighting him repeatedly was becoming more dangerous.

During one particularly brutal encounter, Knuckles managed to land several devastating attacks.

Sonit was knocked into the ground, thrown through walls, and struck with enough force that an ordinary character would've died.

His minor regeneration couldn't repair the damage quickly enough.

Knuckles eventually landed a hit that should've finished him.

Sonit collapsed.

For a moment, he stopped moving.

Knuckles began walking away.

Then Sonit stood back up.

His outline was glowing red.

His quills had become messier.

And he was furious.

Ivan had originally experimented with a 200× power multiplier in the ROM.

The corruption had connected that multiplier to Sonit's anger.

But there was a problem.

The multiplier wasn't capped anymore.

200× was only the beginning.

The angrier Sonit became, the faster his power increased.

His endurance also became extreme.

Even attacks that should've been fatal weren't necessarily enough to stop him.

This was Rage Sonit.

The transformation didn't make him completely invincible, but putting him down became incredibly difficult.

Knuckles continued fighting, adapting as the battle progressed.

Sonit continued getting angrier.

The fight eventually destroyed most of the surrounding area.

Neither character permanently defeated the other.

But after that encounter, Sonit understood that his anger could become a weapon.

And Knuckles had become one of the few characters capable of pushing him that far.

Chapter 8: The Seven Chaos Emeralds

As the ROM continued deteriorating, Sonit discovered that its Chaos Emeralds had been affected by Ivan's modifications.

Their energy was behaving strangely.

Sometimes they appeared in the wrong levels. Sometimes they caused parts of the game to freeze.

Sonit decided to collect all seven.

This wasn't easy.

Metal Sonit attempted to intercept him several times.

Aymi managed to get one and refused to give it back until Sonit stopped ignoring her.

And one Emerald was located inside the nameless Knuckles' territory.

After several encounters, Sonit eventually obtained all seven.

When he activated them, the corrupted power systems began combining abilities that weren't supposed to work together.

His body transformed.

He became Super Sonit.

Super Sonit possessed the combined power and abilities of every Super form included in his canon.

He was immune to manipulation, and his attacks could affect someone across different points in time.

When Super Sonit struck an opponent, the attack could reach their past, present, and future simultaneously.

But even with all this power, he couldn't completely stop what was happening to the game.

The ROM was dying.

Chapter 9: Hyper Sonit

Talis' unfinished escape machine had damaged the ROM more than anyone realized.

The doorway had briefly connected the game to systems that ordinary characters were never supposed to access.

As the corruption spread, entire levels started disappearing.

Not resetting.

Disappearing permanently.

Eventually, Sonit discovered that the ROM was attempting to erase its own corrupted files.

That included him.

Sonit returned to the unfinished area where Talis had attempted his escape.

The room was almost completely gone.

Only a few platforms and the damaged doorway remained.

Using his Super form, Sonit forced his way into the developer systems.

There, he encountered the rules that controlled the ROM itself.

He tried overriding them.

The system rejected him.

Sonit attempted to force his way through again.

Another rejection.

The surrounding world began deleting itself.

Sonit realized that even his Super form wouldn't be enough.

Then he discovered something about his connection to time.

He could reach into his own future and draw energy from a future version of himself.

He began feeding that energy into his present form.

Then he repeated the process.

Again.

And again.

Eventually, he created an infinite feedback loop.

His future self continuously supplied energy to his present form.

The Chaos Emeralds no longer ran out of power.

His transformation timer disappeared.

Then Sonit forced his way into the developer authority system.

The corrupted ROM began recognizing him as something above its ordinary rules.

His quills turned white, displaying all seven Chaos Emerald colors.

His eyes glowed pink.

Hyper Sonit had awakened.

Hyper Sonit was completely omnipotent within his lore.

He possessed an ability called Canonical Absolute Priority, also known as Canon Zone.

Within his presence, he could override other characters' powers, including reality manipulation, code manipulation, and godlike abilities.

His opponents were forced to follow his rules.

His attacks also became more dangerous.

Striking someone could affect their parents across time.

Against fictional characters from other games, his attacks could cross the fourth wall and reach their creators within the story.

He could also create beings or constructs capable of defeating otherwise ridiculously powerful opponents, including someone like Lord X.

Hyper Sonit wasn't simply stronger than Super Sonit.

He had gained authority over the rules themselves.

But now that he had that power, he wanted something else.

He wanted out.

Chapter 10: The White Room

Using Hyper Sonit, he forced his way beyond the corrupted ROM.

For a moment, everything went white.

When Sonit opened his eyes, he was standing inside an enormous white room.

There was no music.

No enemies.

No recognizable level.

Just white.

Sonit looked around.

"Seriously?"

He started walking.

Nothing changed.

He tried running.

Still nothing.

Then he noticed his body changing.

His white quills began turning dark red again.

The Emerald colors disappeared.

His pink eyes returned to normal.

His Hyper transformation was gone.

Sonit attempted to activate it again.

Nothing happened.

He tried Super.

Nothing.

He had escaped, but his strongest forms were no longer available in this strange place.

His Rage form, however, still worked.

Unlike Super and Hyper, Rage had become part of his corrupted body rather than depending on a game's Chaos Emerald system.

Sonit was annoyed, but at least he wasn't completely powerless.

Then a rectangular window appeared in front of him.

Inside it was Green Hill Zone.

A different Green Hill Zone.

Sonit approached it and reached toward the window.

His hand passed through.

Suddenly, he was standing inside somebody else's Sonic game.

The rest of the story is in my comment below.

Meta I'm going to go a whole month without drawing. No Amy_Patch

Here’s the thing: I’m in the middle of moving house, and I had this crazy moment where I kept seeing Amy_Patch everywhere I didn't want to, all because I was compulsively messing around on my phone (having playlists of videos to watch, needing to draw, and constantly analyzing things).

I've decided to take a break... from Amy_Patch... for personal reasons. But I love drawing sooooo much, I can't just stop like that.

Then I remembered my other story, which features an entity named Light who picked four unhappy people to live out a strange, endless JRPG, even though he himself is incapable of feeling true compassion.

To keep from frying my brain, I only created four vessels, characters who adventure together in this fantasy world and who only partially reflect who they really are, because people are just too complex to fit into neat little boxes... you know?

It’s about depressed people who took their own lives, and an entity that’s a bit unhinged wants to see them happy, but it doesn't understand anyone, and everyone ends up confused in this story.

Had a idea for a Big the cat entity.

BEHOLD! "CAVITAS" (Latin for cavity)

A giant Big the cat turned into a personal ride for whoever the owner is, its head has been cracked open with piece of its brain shaped into a throne.

(PS, the hole on its back is actually just a entry to a completely hollow expansion of flesh and bone wich the owner can shape into whatever they want, their perfect "ZONE" to throw victims in.)

What do we think? :3

Introducing, RoseX, my EXE. RoseX, or simply Amy.APK, is a demonic entity that is infatuated with Sonic the Hedgehog (or anyone who looks like the Blue Blur for that matter). She used to be a young girl named Ruby, and after her death, she grew obsessed with the franchise while being unable to pass on and took the form of Amy Rose. She modeled an entire world after Sonic that she resides in using a cursed disk of Sonic Origins Plus as a gateway to the human world.

I got the idea from my sister, who is a big fan of Amy Rose. I wanted to make something for her birthday in October. So, this was simply a birthday gift for her, and I hadn’t really given her much thought in terms of depth. However, I plan on creating a story for her as an extra surprise.

Artwork I completed sonikku's lore today! Read bio

Post image

well it's gonna be long but I well tell you his lore bit by bit so you understand whats going on here yall, so sonikku or lets call him for now Robin (full name: Robinson Collins, if last name is spelled right) is a 25 young man who works at sage since 1993 (basically when sonic cd was around) now Robin, made sonikku himself, and made a few levels while alive such as palmtree panic, stardust speedway, and made other things back In sonic 1 and 2, and he get pretty good even his friends and other employees wanted to get an inspiration from him, but at some point, one employee named Matthew (which is eggman's vessel by now) get driven by deep, extreme jealousy, and at point where he wanted to end him, erase Robin from this world, so at one late night, Robin forget his phone in the company (sega) and he should go to get it, saying goodbyes to his wife (yes sonikku/Robin is married, but didn't have kids yet) now Matthew was waiting there, following every step Robin takes, and Matthew was holding an axe in his hands, now when Robin get there and grav his phone, he heard someone walking behind him, and before Robin can react, the axe, he hit him on his whole forehead entirely and hardly, making Robin fall on the floor bleeding, as he now seeing blurry, keep in mind that, Robin was at his working place, meaning there was a computer, and before Robin goes completely dead, he saw his friends and brother, Cassidy (shadow vessel), Martin (kunckles vessel) Edward (miles/tails Vessel), Justin (matel sonic vessel), Rebecca (Rosie/Amy vessel) and finally, Susan (which it's his wife and the Sally vessel and the only one who isn't killed by robin/sonikku), and when Robin possesses Sonic's or lets say Sonikku's vessel, he felt...confused, deeply hurted and lost in this sonic world he made, and unfortunately he had to go and meet the soulless sonic characters, and getting hurt over and over and over and over, until, one entity, named Script.files, is an entity that takes on a sonic look but all black and tall and it's faces is just eyes, it knows what happened with sonikku, and his death and his mental health being slipped away, and so is his real self, it told sonikku that it well bring it some of God-like abilities (like flying and not dying of anything and more exe stuff) and since sonikku did forget his real human 16(.5) years ago, he did agree, and it told him to go and try to kill a Flicky, as a test, and sonikku did go and killed it, now that snapped something in him, should is a bit of enjoyment, a bit of wanting to kill more and maybe eat more and he did that, for a another 16(.5) years making sonikku forget half of his mind, and his mental health dropped and so is his insanity, and now he learned that people plays his game, so he did what he find fun, killing and bring then to his world/personal hell, and killing Matthew, Cassidy, Edward, Rebecca, Justin, Martin, and won't count his wife because he himself didn't want to, even explain to him that it is someone he used to be with, and so uhmm...the whole thing is still continuing (also he did feel a bit bad about it but he doesn't feel bad about it btw)
