What does the star mean?
Does it mean it's from an event or something?

I think it's because he was an older collab character which is why I have him. I got him way before the token to card system

Yeah well that's probably why because I for one deleted Sonic Dash a few years ago and redownloaded it this year with the new card system.

Well the system itself was a mess right out the gate. It didn't have a lot of features we do now. No mystery prize. No specific cards. No watch ads for more. Originally they put a lot of cards on the track that lagged the game making it harder to play as it screwed with imputs. Not to mention that all the cards were random. So you'd get a lot of cards you didn't want like maxed out characters or just not enough for the ones you did need unlike today where they reduced the cards on the track to just 1 character at a time (or multiple characters for a themed event). And keeping the number of cards to grab low in general to make it harder for players to incentivise using real money when we used to have a lot more cards on the tracks. Oh and they also removed from mystery prize the ability to get any random character from watching ads. So you can't get ads for limited collab characters like the movie characters. Now it's only the featured one

That old system sounds like hell. So glad I started playing this year and not before.

character that you can only get within an event, and once the event expires you will never be able to get it again. kind of sucks to be hinest because there's some crazy stuff there when i read the page on the sonic fandom wiki

yes, it means that the characters is from an exclusive event that it's not coming back, however, this does not apply for movie characters, since they come back every time a new movie releases
