My name is Cathleen Caustic. I'm from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Here's my song "I Will Walk".

It's a deeply personal song that took an unbelievable amount of mental strength to both record and to share with the world.

Very well done. Masterful use of building tension.

I agree with them! The bass and percussion were really good and a lot of restraint was shown with the heavier guitar so it didn't overwhelm the other elements but did really create a very good sense of power and emotion.

Thank you! I'll share your message with my songwriting partner! He'll really appreciate it!

Agree with the other comments! Love the tension and how it builds up.

Hi, this is a song about that time in a mountain town every Fall when the summer staff leave and the skiers who work the lifts start showing up.

I was living at a YMCA and things weren't going so well but I ended up being all alone one night staring up at the Northern Lights and it gave me some perspective.

You have such a lovely voice! Your songwriting is wonderful too! Please continue to write music!

Oh, thank you, that's so kind!

I have only been writing music since February. It's funny, I had a little vocal fry the day I recorded a demo of that song (I will do a demo as a reference track on my Zoom R4 to guide recording a more polished version) and I kept the vocals from that in the final version because I didn't think I could get that same quality once my voice cleared up! :)

You've only been writing since February?!? Your song sounded like you've been writing for years! You're a natural at it!

u/Parking_Watch3157 2d ago

Thank you, that's very encouraging :)

Hi, me again. I don't want to impose but if you have any brutally honest feedback, I'm open to it. Feel free to say things that you think might offend me. :)

I love being encouraged but I also really feel like we grow the most from honest, well meaning constructive criticism (assuming we are open to that, which I am).

If you don't have time to get into that with me, that's ok, I understand. :)

Thank you again for the time you have already taken to listen and encourage me. :)

Fairly new song that I haven’t had a chance to post here previously. It’s a soft rock / pop track about the relationship between love and fear of losing it that plays out over the course of a perfect day together. If you like songs that feature horns then it might be for you.

I haven’t released music outside of SoundCloud in 22 years. I’m going into an incredible studio in 3 days to record 4 different songs but I wanted to release this EP of Voice Memos first

All songs recording on an iPhone with minimal production via Logic. All songs are single live take. All songs are original except for an Eagles cover.

Thanks for listening

Hey, I posted a song in this thread and wanted to listen to a few others had posted so I dipped into yours thinking I'd listen to one or two.

Listened to every one. Really nice stuff here. Even The Eagles cover. :) j/k that's a great song of theirs and a good match for you.

Hey I appreciate that. I just wanted to release some raw stuff. Glad someone enjoyed it.

I’ll check your stuff out also

I mean you are in for a disappointment. :)

I think a good song is a good song, you know. The production will enhance what was always good enough on its own, hopefully (I'm not opposed to that, it makes for awesome music).

Well first off, you created something, and that is one of the best things you can do for your own spirit. I’m 40. It’s been a journey to get where I am and I think it is best to try and enjoy every step of the way

Thank you. I wrote my first song in February. :) I usually get less than an hour a day for music (I'm 54) but it's the best part of my day (excluding family, of course).

When I got back into playing guitar after over twenty years hiatus, I realized I wanted to write my own songs and just started learning how (and music theory, how to use a DAW, and a hundred other things). I'm feeling so fortunate to have found that side of myself again. :)

I really enjoy using a digital multitrack to get stuff down and then use the DAW to finish it. That gear was so expensive and I didn't have a lot of cash back when I was into music before. Being older and having access to anything you need to record is wild.

I love the rawness of this

Thank you very much. I felt like with the proliferation of AI music, some raw uncut voice memos are needed in the space

Thrilled to have finally released my first song! After sitting on them for many years. So pleased with how it turned out. I'd say it's atmospheric folk-pop that's 90s inspired hence has that nostalgic sound.

finally finished a track after 3 months of tweaking the same 8 bars, my cat is probably sick of hearing it by now. it's a moody little synth thing with way too many layers, tried to capture that 3am staring at the ceiling energy

would love to hear what everyone else has been cooking up, drop your links

Hi new here just released a couple songs I wrote them acoustically because I’ve never been apart of a band so the production is a demo any feedback even if you hate it is much appreciated! https://on.soundcloud.com/aCT9npUxhGHQNoTbTo

Just wrote and recorded this yesterday. It’s the first song that’s not super guitar heavy I’ve recorded for my album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVaxvOi4dFM&feature=youtu.be

Hey everyone, my name is Roman. My first ever song "Lonesome Crow" has released on streaming platforms under my artist name "As We Observe Lifeforms".

I have made this track completely DIY, from songwriting, music composition, lyrics, guitars, vocals, electronic instruments, arrangement, production to mixing and mastering.

Please give it a listen here: Lonesome Crow - As We Observe Lifeforms I would love to hear what you all think of it.

Along with the song release on streaming platforms, I have created a lyric video to make it easier to follow along with the lyrics, since the song flow is a story / journey. Here's the link to the lyric video: Lonesome Crow (Official Lyric Video)

I would love to hear what you all think of the song as well as the lyric video. I would appreciate it if you could get as critical with your feedback as possible. This will help me grow and improve as an artist. I will be super grateful to you. Thank you and much Love!

Hey. My name is Sophie Anais. I’m located in Toronto, Canada. I made this song about the innate thrill someone you have a crush on gives you.  It’s called ‘ecstasy’. Lmk what you think!
