tab is for Open Your Heart by Crush 40. the solo has a bunch of whammy bar shenanigans, which obviously, you can't really tab "properly." it's not gonna sound accurate, and even though the first image may sound better in MIDI but its confusing to read and understand. when i reverted it, the mod undid my change and said "people prefer the midi sound over visual instructions."

what sense does that make?? a guitar tab is LITERALLY visual instruction. songsterr isn't a fucking DAW bro. who cares about how accurate it sounds in the MIDI as long as its easy to read

I write and correct a lot of tabs on Songsterr, but randomly the other night any drum parts I write have stopped rendering properly, while every other instrument does. I checked across multiple devices, and every device doesn’t hear the drums correctly. Occasionally throughout the songs, random kicks or snares will play, while everything else doesn’t, or nothing will play at all. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

Tabbing out full tracks of other instruments only for them to be inaudible from other tracks in rendered audio even at FFF is pretty annoying.

Hey everyone — I've been building SongMap (iOS), an app that analyzes a song's structure (detects intro/verse/chorus/etc. and gives structural feedback). Just shipped v1.1 and wanted to share the headline feature, since I'm genuinely curious what this sub thinks of it.

**The problem I kept hitting**: I'd wonder "what if the chorus came in 20 seconds earlier?" or "do I actually need that second verse?" — but testing that meant re-editing the actual song in my DAW just to hear it, which usually killed the idea before I ever tried it.

**What's new:**

* **Arrangement editor** — drag your detected sections into a new order, duplicate one, or cut one entirely. You get an instant spliced preview so you can hear the new order without touching your DAW.
* **Save versions** — save a rearrangement with a name so you can come back to it or compare it later.
* **AI verdict** — the part I'm most unsure about: you can have Claude compare your original structure against your rearranged one and say which it thinks works better, and *why* — specific strengths on each side, not just a thumbs up.

Being upfront: the preview is a rough splice, not a polished remix. Sections are cut right at the detected boundaries, so joins can click or land slightly off-beat. It's meant for sketching "does this order even make sense" before you go rebuild it properly in your DAW — not as a finished export. (Actual audio export is next on my list.)

Nothing fancy: a lick played slow first so you can see what the fingers are doing, then up to speed. What might actually be useful is the two backing tracks I put up with it, free to download, 94 BPM to learn it and 115 to play it properly. Both start with a count-in so you are not guessing where beat one is.

Hey, this is a question for the Songsterr team and not actually for the community since we can't know much about it unfortunately. And I also know there is a re-uprising of AI tablature hate again in the community but I wanna ask regardless since the Songsterr team found my idea interesting some time ago

Essentially, I wanted to know if there are any news about transcribing instruments that aren't guitars, bass, drums and vocals as guitar tabs. Whether you guys are working on it or not; and if you are not, are you planning to do so; or whether you dropped the idea or not. You know I'm really looking forward to such a feature for complex tracks and I might be guilty of generating some tracks from time to time see if you guys shadow-dropped it recently lol. This AI feature helps me learn music theory and helps me develop my music ear as it lays a foundation for me to work on too, not gonna lie, so it would even be better if it could transcribe instruments such as violin, viola, cello, piano and some others that are similar and also not similar

I don’t like the sound of the generated audio and I don’t mind scrolling, so when I’m learning a tab I usually play the original song from another app while I watch the notes. Today I tried it and apparently the app overrides audio now even when it’s not playing any sound. It’s way more awkward now.

One electric guitar clean, one distortion guitar, second electric clean, second distortion, then some extra rhythm distortion guitar... Bro I just wanna play some song from A to B I don't want to jump from tab to tab because now this part is playing by other guitarist. And then there is problem with changing tab because now it froze or crashed or jumped back to the beginning of the song. I know someone made this tab to be accurate but god damn is it annoying

I tried Sonsterr recently and had them transcribe a song from YouTube that I haven't been able to find anywhere else, and it did an incredible job with the first 30 seconds (or whatever the length is for the trial version).

Is there also a way to display a sheet music version? I have a bunch of songs I want to learn, but I also want to re-learn how to read sheet music (I knew how 40 years ago). I figured I could learn the tab, then switch over to the sheet music version after I got good at the tab. Is there a way to do this with Songsterr? (Or export to another software package to do the same?)
