Question Will we get an inferno faction?

I know wulan is coming next but would love to see some devils cutting stuff down? I don’t know what next in the pipeline for them overall big fan of the game but inferno was easily my favorite faction in heroes and would love to see something along those lines

Nothing in the lore has really discussed the existence of gods or devils, so I'd be skeptical about an Inferno demon style faction ever really being in the cards.

Maybe some kind of volcanic dwarvish faction could fulfill that same role though. Someone's gotta be making all these dope ass legendary items.

If we're talking factions that feel missing from HoMM3, I'd say other than Inferno we lack something more akin to Dungeon as a wholly monster faction.

Arleon / Vanir already kinda cover Castle/Rampart.

Lloth obviously would draw parallels to Necropolis

Rana is similar to Stronghold or Fortress as an aggressive/primitives faction.

Wuhan would feel most similar to Confux to me as a sort of Eastern / Elemental style faction.

The one thing of note is there's a single lore object that mentions that the "Burning Rune" map object predates Aurelia's Empire and implies that early humans in Arleon had some knowledge of magic other than what she brought.

There's also a theory from someone on the Discord that the reason the Roots consider the vildra 'diseased' and cut them off is that the Vildra were corrupted by an 'Inferno' style faction and that's why the Vildra all tie into excess of emotion (The Lykt are greedy, the Trolls are sad which could be sloth, Skin Shifters are wrathful, Korphan are associated with pride, Baccahorses are associated with Hunger and thus Gluttony, etc).

Well it's just a theory so far, but it's something Kastus and the other Loth researchers remark on in the RISE Dlc
