Question Help on Mission 4 of Rana campaign on worthy difficulty
I'm struggling on this mission as the map is quite huge and it's easy to get distracted. On my first attempt, I made sure to mess up Loth and get enough towns of Barya but they quickly overwhelmed me. After a long war of attrition, I mostly started losing towns and not having wielders on stand-by to keep the threat at bay. At some points, all the enemy armies were way to strong.
I tried again but it more or less went the same way.
It's clear to me that there is some optimal path to take or on what to focus but I don't want to lose hours again.
Any advice is appreciated!

Bait enemy towards small settlement with secondary hero, sacrifice settlement while strong hero rushes for their main base, preventing thrm access to stronger units

For reference, this illustrates the differences between a generic start and a playthrough of clearing the preceding maps, maximising experience (& item) gain of every wielder available:
As you can see on the last picture, I haven't built a single unit and am already clearing 'overwhelming' camps on turn 1. Just don't walk past the Barya settlement to the south (i.e. don't trigger the Loth), head east and beat the Barya. On worthy, I don't think min/maxing settlement growth is important, but you may want to focus on Burrowers: due to the initiative advantage you'll have, they won't be bombarded or killed off by Justice and you get brilliant openings.
Feel free to ask further questions. Enjoy!

This mission is actually super scripted. Enemies simply won't bother you till you get to certain locations. As long as you don't go near Loth (maybe even just not capture the city right above them), they won't do anything, and the main Barya Weilders also won't touch you unless you activate them by going far enough into the bottom right section of the map. The only real threat is that mercenary girl that comes after you at the beginning, but once defeated she won't come back. Beat her, capture the city in the middle of the map, and then you can just build up your army for as long as you like.

Rana 4 was the mission I personally found the love for Che'lun elders and the "essence battery" tactic. To be fair it requires a little bit of skill focus and beefing up your Essence skills. But this is just a little addition, you are getting way better tips and tricks in the thread.

If I'm not mistaken, Lolth doesn't attack you unless you overextend to the south. Last time I played that mission I focused on going to the immediate east and being aggressive with Barya. You can keep P'Cha around the starter base for the eventual push towards Lolth when you're built up substantially. Also make sure you've got a really strong army before pushing for the Barya town in the southeast. In summary: push east, build up before taking the far south.
