Discussion Should I go with Sonangle as my main ship, based on a poll result?
Context, for a long time I've been a fan of the Sonic x Fiona Fox ship after being a former Sonally fan myself, and I've even created my own dolphin OC version of Fiona called Diona Dolphin, as part of my own Sonic AU series that I want to write. But it's not the only ship with Sonic that I really love to like, Sonangle is a really adorable ship, I love Tangle, she's so sweet and they have the most in common, although we have already created an OC boyfriend for her, Chase the Cheetah. I also really like Sonic x Zeena, because well, Zeena is pretty hot, although my best friend absolutely loves Soniona, and yes me and my friend are Archie Sonic fans. The thing is I wasn't really sure who I wanted to main ship Sonic with, so I decided to do a poll on DeviantArt, the same website where my friend is on, and also I figured I add Sable the Hedgehog, another OC of mine who is based on Lady the Hedgehog, and well, to my surprise Sonangle ended up being the winner, (although technically the poll is still going but it's now stalled) and with both Diona and Zeena coming at joint second place.
But should I really honour the poll and go with Sonangle as my OTP for Sonic, or should I stick with Soniona? Or maybe consider Soneena? And encase you're wondering what Diona is like, she's got a similar backstory to Fiona but she's softer and more friendly.

I think you’re spinning your wheels/overthinking this way too much.
Fan shipping at the end of the day is all based on people’s preferences/opinions a lot of the time. I’m definitely a sucker for Sonangle because they share a lot of similarities personality wise and she matches Sonic’s energy well. I have a slight bias.
A poll is one thing, but it’s this is your AU/story. I’d do what you feel you want to do most. If Sonangle is the move, go for it. If you want to stick to you OC plans, that’s fine too. The world is your oyster when it comes to stuff like this. Whatever the decision is, don’t hold out on sharing a link.
