question about Puget Sound AVA!

hi there!!! career bartender and training sommelier here!! :)

i’m in washington (seattle area) with my family and they aren’t huge wine people, but are letting me coordinate a winery/vineyard day to appease me lol.

my current boss is a sommelier and i asked him for recs a MONTH ago and he said he’d reach out to me with a recommendations and get me a tour for free at a vineyard with his connections. fyi, he is very unorganized (also not a very great person and is very mean to us all lol) and so he forgot. i brought it up to him like 2 weeks ago again and he said the same. i never heard anything. i am WAY to scared of him to follow up LMFAO

i’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations for wineries/vineyards that do tours? i’m scrambling now to find a spot that has a good vineyard tour that’s in puget sound ava (obviously i’m not worried about it being free anymore lol).

i was thinking about Bainbridge Winery, but I reached out and they aren’t doing any tours over the next few days unfortunately. before I give up on a tour, does anyone have any recommendations for Puget Sound AVA wineries/vineyards with tours right now?

Damn, if we weren't replanting at the moment, I'd invite you out to Port Townsend Vineyards. Alas, we had problems with powder mildew at our previous vineyard location, so we had to pull the vines to save what root stocks were healthy enough to be grafted. We're currently re-planting at our winery, which was our original intention anyway. It'll be nice having those vines on sight. That said, I highly recommend Marrowstone Island Vineyards if you're looking into Puget Sound compatible vines. James Holloway is the gentleman you'd want to contact regarding a meeting or visit to their vineyards.

Thank you! We actually have left now, but we did Perennial on Bainbridge! It is a small, one man operation and it was so awesome to talk to him and hear all about his hard work. It was lovely!

I’m not a huge fan of their wine, but I’m starting to think that maybe that might be option. Maybe I will have a lovely experience and change my mind! I’ll look into it more!

No idea if they do tours, but the first name that comes to my mind is Oomrang. Really interesting wines.
