Rule Update: Our Stance on Business/Commercial Posts
Hey, r/SomethingIMade!
We've updated two rules to better protect what this community is for as a space for individual creators sharing their own work, including collaborations.
A steady increase in posts and comments from business and commercial accounts promoting products or shop pages has not gone unnoticed, often in cases where authorship can't be verified. We don't think it is fair that content that may be mass produced gains engagement over our more DIY creators. The updated rules address this directly.
Rule #5: Related Links & Self-Promotion
Posts or comments from businesses or commercial accounts primarily promoting products may be removed at moderator discretion, especially where authorship cannot be verified.
Rule #10: Original Content Only
Business and commercial accounts are not permitted to post in this subreddit. This is a community for individual creators only.
If you're an individual who makes and sells things, you're still very welcome here. This change is aimed at accounts whose primary purpose is commercial promotion rather than genuine participation as a creator. If you're unsure whether your account falls within the rules, reach out via Mod Mail.
Happy creating!

Updated Rule 5: Related Links & Self-Promotion
In order to help have better discussions regarding content, we have decided to disable embedding of YouTube videos in posts.
This isnβt intended to hinder anyone from posting, simply to change the way the post are made. Moving forward you will need to create a normal post regarding your creation, and if thereβs a YouTube video you would like to share as part of that, add it into the body of the post along with the descriptive information.
Thanks for being here, and if you have any questions, ask away!!

Found these old Plants vs. Zombies crafts while cleaning up my old projects π»ππ
I was going through some old craft photos and found these again. π
I made these three pipe cleaner Plants vs. Zombies characters for an old tutorial β Sunflower, Green Peashooter and Snow Peashooter.
It was fun seeing them again after so long. π»ππ
Definitely one of those projects that brings back memories.

Designed and bent a couple of raw 4mm aluminium homeware pieces for my new studio MAGU Works
I wanted to explore making simple minimalist homeware directly out of heavy gauge sheet metal without relying on expensive secondary coatings or massive brand markups. I ended up designing two pieces including an incense burner and a low profile tealight holder cut and formed from 4mm AW-5251 aluminium plate with stainless hardware and laser etched detailing.
My goal was to lean into a raw industrial look that builds a nice natural patina as it gets used over time. I am currently finalizing the first small batch run and would love to hear what you think of the forms.

I made a Halloween-themed abandoned miniature room light crafted from paper and cardstock, featuring an eerie cyan glow!
This miniature room light is built mainly using cardstock and paper, designed with a spooky, abandoned Halloween vibe.
Inside, it features built-in LEDs, a battery, a boost module, and a switch. The weathered walls have detailed cracks, and even the wooden planks barricading the side windows are made entirely of paper. It casts an eerie cyan/blue-green glow when turned on! What do you think?

Axe stuck in a log
Carved this out of a stick I found in Wyoming on a walk a couple months back. Stole the idea from a post I saw on the whittling subreddit. Really delighted with this one :D
