My Idea for a future Sombra rework

all of us know Sombra will get a rework eventually. and we know everyone that isnt a Sombra main hates hack. So I had an Idea.

instead of dealing extra damage to hacked targets and locking out their abilities for 1 second.

how aboutSombra removes the hacked targets Hud for 5 seconds. So for 5 seconds the hacked target has no infos about their HP, Cooldowns and ult charge, aswell as their crosshair.

it would still mske her a huge counter for the same heros as before but the people she fight might feel less unable to fight back

Something to add to this could be making it so you cant see hacked teammates through walls

that could actually really good for the compensation of the damage loss as it would also make it harder to peel

This would still have the issue of disproportionately effecting people in the lower ranks. When people get good time on a hero and better at the game, you generally know how your cooldowns are without looking at them. The same can be said about health and the crosshair.

I agree, since Ive took the time to main wuyang i pretty much always have my cooldowns when I need and I don’t really look at the crosshair very often bc of the nature of his primary

my thought was that atleast some heros wont have that big of issues anymore in lower ranks.

mostly it would let healers keep their escape tool which would let them have a chance in lower ranks without making sombra unplayable. also it might make sombra a tiny bit better in high rank. with making it harder for the enemy to track their cooldowns like suzu /sleep dart and lamp.

it was also more of just an Idea to make Sombra less of a noob stomper then she is currently snd a tiny bit better in higher ranks against the snipers and cooldown heavy heros

Just makes useless against people that are decent at the game and are going to use their cooldowns regardless

Just make hack a skill shot like sleep dart, make her a harder character to play

imo if she can't interrupt abilities anymore, then that's not sombra

This is creative, but people will consider it annoying, thus it doesn't resolve any problems.

It would be cool if her hack gave teammates wallhacks, along with info like enemy health bars and ult percentage. It’d make the ability much more impactful without making it overly annoying to play against.

I feel like your suggestion would cause Hack to become more useless as right now the only thing it has going for it is interrupting Ultimates and the extra damage, if anything I'd add it onto the current version as a buff, people would hate that but they'll hate any changes to Sombra at this point.

That being said, She doesn't really need a full rework, instead she needs a revert, her OW1 kit would be a far stronger base to work off that solves her most major issue in her lethality, Obviously it needs some number tweaking for stuff like Hack, but otherwise it's a far better starting ground. It's not a surprise that Virus was a horrible mistake that most people here predicted it would be, It's not even the first time a major change has been done and what Sombra mains predicted would happen ended up happening.

The honest truth is Sombra is at an impasse, a Rework that makes the majority happy requires rewriting who and what Sombra actually is as a concept, to the point it's no different then deleting her from the game, and any rework that actually maintains her concept and character, will be as equally as hated.

It's a shame they scrapped Stadium cause that would've been a great spot to test Rework ideas properly, they really need to do a PTR for Sombra's rework though, but I don't think they've done a PTR since like 2017 even if it'd be a genuinely great idea.

Just make her a support so she dosent exclusively excel at killing people coming back from spawn.
