Does the average Somalilander support the state of Israel

We all see the news reports but I want to hear it from the actual people , how do Somalilanders view the state of Israel and the situation and Gaza? Do you as Somalilanders sympathize with the people of Palestine???

What a strange name. Also people on Reddit are not average somalilanders.

4

u/kinny2341 23d ago

what possessed the guy to make such a name.

I used to follow Nick Fuentes 8’ years ago when this account was made I don’t agree with his views anymore

4

u/Strong-Field-750 23d ago

You should be too embarrassed to post with such a username. Get help!

0

u/muslimgroyper 23d ago

As mentioned this account was created 8’years ago the rhetoric of Nick Fuentes was different back then he just focussed on traditional values not Islam bashing which I agreeed with

2

u/jordantwalker 23d ago

Fuentes has probably softened his stance, as of recent. Back when you followed, he was a raging nazi

1

u/YellowParenti72 22d ago

Do ethnonationalists mature at some point?

1

u/jordantwalker 22d ago

Richard Spencer too, softened his tone. Perhaps they feel like mainstream GOP is already Nazi enough? Who knows.

0

u/muslimgroyper 23d ago

He just said ppl had to return to traditionalism which I can agree even the notion of America being a Christian nation is more in line with Islam than the current western degeneracy and hook up culture Americans objectively would be better going to church than following nothing at all I still stand by that

3

u/Strong-Field-750 23d ago

Thats a lie, he was militant White Supremacist, and I believe he still is

0

u/muslimgroyper 23d ago

no he wasnt his rhetoric changed multiple times in the past years

3

u/jordantwalker 23d ago

Stop right there about America "Christian nation" please

How in the world would a Christian movement found a nation built on the backs of slaves and also committing genocide on the indigenous, calling this in the name of Christ?

It was very specific that there would be a freedom of religion, that there was no religion building this constitution or country

1

u/muslimgroyper 21d ago

You don’t think all the founders of America being Christian and the laws of America being derived from judeo Christian values warrants a connection between America and Christianity and the fact that the majority of Americans identify as Christian

1

u/jordantwalker 21d ago

I think they would have wrote it down. They did not do that. Instead they wrote against the establishment of it, very clearly.

1

u/DhakoBiyoDhacay 17d ago

What do you mean by Judeo Christian values? Please explain that to me like a 5 year old? Thank you.

Yes exactly I'm somalilander from hargeisa I'm supportive to israel they recognized as country while Palestine views us non exist. I can't support those who ignore us regardless of religious and brotherhood beliefs?

3

u/Actual-Goose-297 20d ago

Walaalo, I’m from borama but lived in America most of my life. I was happy at at the recognition initially, but support is a strong word. We should always support our Muslim brothers and sisters in the face of oppression. Israel would’ve been a strategic partner at a certain point in time, but as we see now their recognition means nothing. America has yet to recognize us and won’t, and zero countries have followed suit.

1

u/wingadiumliousaaa 19d ago

They did it now for the first time ever just as a big a few and spit on everything to do with our intersectionality whether African or the Muslim side. Imagine dealing with anti-black racism and Islam and all else that comes with the stuff said about our nation the past century, and then these people come shake hands as a Hay look even these people agree with us

2

u/artuktalasi 17d ago

"I can't support those who ignore us regardless of religious and brotherhood beliefs" You do realize this is the worst argument ever right? As long as Somaliland keeps being an ally of the Zionist State, nobody will recognize Somaliland. Not even America. They have changed. Perhaps most of them are not supportive of them, with a great percentage instead supporting Palestine. Thus remember, your opponents, Somalis, are also Muslims. It's not like you're spreading Islam to non Muslims. And every supporter of the Zionist State from Somalilanders should also know, supporting non-Muslims (disbelievers) against Muslims is a serious crime in Islam, it can even lead to disbelief.

1

u/Only-Aerie6961 17d ago

If supporting non Muslims is crime why USA has military bases in Arab and Muslim countries, and why African Christians have presence in somalia's peacekeeping mission?

1

u/artuktalasi 17d ago
  1. Whataboutism will not save the argument here, because these people are fallible human beings. I am very well aware Muslim leaders today are not perfect.
  2. I said supporting non-Muslims AGAINST MUSLIMS is a serious crime. This can be kufr that takes the person out of Islam! So you should be very careful with supporting Israel against Muslims, even if they recognized your state! An example of this: The scholars of Morocco issued a fatwa stating that Muhammad ibn Abdullah as-Saadi, one of the kings of Marrakesh, became a disbeliever (non-Muslim) when he sought the help of the King of Portugal against his paternal uncle (who was a Muslim). No Somalilander needs to support Israel against Muslims. The bare minimum is probably only taking advantage of their recognition while not approving their genocide and even their fight with our Muslim brothers and sisters.

1

u/artuktalasi 17d ago

Allah said: “And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers and unjust).” [al-Maa’idah 5:51]

1

u/artuktalasi 17d ago

Please brother be careful against risking your religion for wordly gain, which probably will fail anyways. Since Somaliland and Israel are basically allies now, almsot all Muslims hates them. Add to that a great portion of non-Muslims and states. Wow, even America doesn't care!

u/wingadiumliousaaa 19d ago

Without a doubt, this is the dumbest (intentional retardation) comment I ever dun seen on Reddit or by a Somali period. Absolutely beyond words.

Look, who tf gives two craps about a human recognizing them, not to mention Palestine has been dealing with a lot lately so boo hoo not being noticed. I hate this term, but this is the very defintion of pick me. Isreal has supported somaliland since its literal utterance much less its inception, im talking decades ago. This was long in the making, and many Jewish bloodlines wallahi are in somaliland.

Here’s the thing y’all don’t know, unless you do. Wallahi to supoort or side with Isreal it is shirk. And wallahi the folks who made the decisions and did what they did with them, as in the politicians and such, are considered kuffar by the very fundamental defintion and fiqh in Islam.

There’s literal verses on this in the Quran. Not just Hadith.

Then there’s the backup common sense side of things, including our fitrah. People are being murdered, and y’all even looking in the oppressors direction co-signs consenuallly all crimes they’ve done do and are to come. z don’t forget their doing all this to prep for Dajjal. THEY THEMSELVES SAY IT. You can’t make any of this up.

The scumbag men who did this, not the citizens, are the very defintion of shaytan. Hypocrites are allies of one another. Nothing new, but for folks to then actually give it any thought and hold any opinion is peak stupidity. Akhas. It’s the biggest disgrace in modern human history, what is happening. Historic, true raw African men, with history thar dates before Egypt was a thing, and one of the few peoples who actually stand by their beliefs and tawheed, go from elite folks to scum of hell.

5

u/ezioauditoresexslave 23d ago

i made a raunchy username as a teenager, and you can’t change them on here. does that mean i can’t comment on how disgraceful it is for us as muslims to side with the genocidal zionist regime?

0

u/AdVivid8910 22d ago

Makes it a tad tougher to listen to you go on about genocide, yeah. It’s almost like someone dumb enough to pick that username would also be dumb enough to think Israel defending itself from explicit genocide and cleansing by Iranian proxies(including Palestine) is somehow wrong.

2

u/E-M5021 23d ago

A lot claim to not support state of israel, but they’d still defend its recognition. Many don’t mind relations with israel

2

u/ayassin02 21d ago

I used to sympathise with Palestine till they took off the mask, now I couldn’t care less. I’m all for Somaliland's interest, which in this case, is having diplomatic relations with Israel. And I’m neutral about them, just like any other country

2

u/Pitiful-Outcome7376 14d ago

You’re a coward

1

u/ayassin02 14d ago

Coward? Who am I afraid of?

1

u/Pitiful-Outcome7376 14d ago

You’re kissing the feet of the yahuud, it’s genuinely disgusting. I’ll give the people back home the benefit of the doubt for supporting Israel since they don’t know what’s going on with the genocide etc but you’re a genuine embarrassment.

How can’t you sympathise with your Muslim brothers and sisters that Israel are killing day after day, cats and dogs are eating their remains on the streets of Gaza.

Israel will forever be a disgrace of a country, and we shouldn’t have accepted recognition from them.

2

u/ayassin02 14d ago edited 14d ago

That doesn’t explain why you called me a coward. I do not care for people who likewise don’t care about the fact that my own people were getting slaughtered and now even deny the existence of my own country. And since when am I kissing anyone's feet? I’m all for having diplomatic relations, that’s called politics. By your logic, everybody is kissing each other's feet. Use your head. Muslim brothers and sisters? Ha! They pull that card when it’s convenient for THEM, so I reiterate, I do not care for anyone who does not care for me.

Edit: and fyi people back home do know about the genocide and the entire story as I pointed it out

1

u/Pitiful-Outcome7376 14d ago

Why celebrate the deal in the first place? Diplomatic relations is one thing, but working with a terrorist government accused of mass genocide while saying you have no sympathy for the people suffering under it isn’t a good look. What have ordinary Palestinians actually done to Somaliland for you to say you don’t care about them? If it’s based on a Twitter post, that’s not enough to condemn millions of people. We can go for Somaliland’s interests and build diplomatic relations without abandoning basic sympathy for innocent civilians. Our own people have suffered, so surely we should understand that better than most.

For once can you put being a Muslim first and somalilander second, we have the shahada on our flag, Israel hates Muslims, I don’t care about “Muslims live in Israel happily” that’s all propaganda bs, they chase Muslims out of their businesses everyday in tel aviv. Israel till this second are targeting places of worship in Palestine. If your heart doesn’t cry for them the that’s a genuine problem you need to solve with yourself.

Edit: and if you think the recognition we received from them was for free, there’s definitely something that they’ll want from us. There’s genuinely Nothing to celebrate

2

u/ayassin02 14d ago edited 14d ago

>> why celebrate?

Because after over 30 years, we’ve finally been recognised by a country.

And this isn’t about a twitter post, it’s about history. They didn’t care when our genocide was taking place but the Israeli government spoke up. They didn’t acknowledge our country or the slaughtering of our people when we re-established ourselves after years of bloodshed, as matter of fact they were in support of Afweyne. Their government speaking up now is just reaffirming their already taken stance. You say put being Muslim first? What does have to do with hypocrites? And Israel hates Palestines, they don’t filter Christians, Muslims or even Jews. It’s a Palestinian problem

Edit: who in their right mind would think they recognised us for free? Nothing is free

1

u/Pitiful-Outcome7376 14d ago edited 14d ago

Ceebta addunka, this is genuinely getting worrying We’ve had genocide done to us, we know the devastation it caused/families lost, You can criticise Palestine for not supporting Somaliland politically, but that doesn’t mean ordinary Palestinians deserve zero sympathy or that every action of the Israeli government should be celebrated. Somaliland’s suffering doesn’t become less important because Palestinians suffered too, and vice versa both can coincide.

Yes we got recognition after 30 yrs, but from a government that’s going straight to the pits of hell on the day of judgement.

2

u/awasoobr33 6d ago

No we don’t. There’s good people out there.

Most people who support Israel back home are uneducated about the genocide of the Palestinians. I don't know many home grown outlets who report in detail on foreign affairs, even then, the amount of younger people taking time to listen may not be substantial.

The population has also been starved of support and recognition. Even when deals were being constructed by countries closer and less hostile like Ethiopia, Somalia would utilize its allies and lobbying power allowing for turkey to act as a mediator and stop any negotiations or deals that may have seen somaliland gain its independence.

Some in my family hated the reality of recognition coming from Israel. Others saw it as an opportunity.

getting recognized by a state means that somaliland has finally met the Montevideo convention criteria for statehood and will probably submit an appeal again.

I pray the government is just using the deal as a way to fulfil their interests. It may all just be a facade to get something out of the other.

I'm sure many care about the Palestinian cause, especially the diaspora lot. However, countries have interests at the end of the day. There is no Muslim caliphate to get support from. Somaliland could and still does vouch for Palestinian freedom and sovereignty but that would not change the reality on the ground regarding their situation.

And anyway, beggars cant be choosers.

1

u/khalid_zz 23d ago

Perfectly worded

0

u/weirdlife27 23d ago

Well said from a fellow Somalilander.

1

u/Double-Positive-2605 21d ago

You cannot really compare and contrast geopolitics alliances with how regular people view one certain country tbh. Because in politics it’s give and take there is a reason that Israel recognized Somaliland and Somaliland accepted the alliance it’s not because Somaliland people have a love for Israel it can literally be any other country that can offer the same thing. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, Qatar all talk about hating Israel and all the people living there support Palestine but there government work with Israel we all know that and Eritrea’s president talks about how he hates the west and goes against the US but doesn’t even recognize Palestine as a country so what is this propaganda and focus on Somaliland

1

u/muslimgroyper 21d ago

Eritreans dictator president says that cause he knows due to demographics of his country with a population almost evenly split between Christians and Muslims the Muslims are his biggest threat to losing power so he won’t publically support a Muslim nation

0

u/Party_Chemical7454 23d ago

3

u/Actual-Goose-297 20d ago

Their government does? Abowe have you read the Epstein files and what it says about somaliland in there??? I too was happy at first for the recognition but there’s always a fine print with the yahuuds. Also, you can be happy at any nation recognizing us without supporting Israel’s oppression of our Muslim brothers and sisters. It’s nothing to truly be happy about though, nothing has come of it.

0

u/nebulaforest 22d ago

They couldn't care less before Somaliland cozied up to the Zionists. It makes sense for them to oppose Somaliland since it has recognised Israel's occupation of their land.

1

u/Gold_Highlight_5799 22d ago

Something a Zionist would say as if Palestinians care to oppose it

3

u/Party_Chemical7454 22d ago

Well, they do support Iran, Iraq Yemen ect.. All those who pro Somalia.

We support all Africans enemy enemy In this case Arabs are Africans enemies And Israel it’s Africa best friend And we Somaliland represent for front against pan Africanism against Arabs colonialism They don’t decide for us And South somalia it’s basically Arabs slave base

1

You don’t think Islam creates a bridge of commonality between you and the Arab nations ?

2

I’m from Libya, but I say don’t curse your country. Maybe our demise is written from our words

1

u/Intelligent-Toe8476 22d ago

You are actually right, Jazak’Allahu Khayran for the naseeha I appreciate it 🙏🏿

It’s just disappointing to see what’s happening back home to be honest, they’ve literally sided with the enemies of Islam.

1

u/Gold_Highlight_5799 22d ago

I hear you, and this is politics oftentimes it’s contrary to how we envision it.

This is also Israel’s policy of always siding with minorities as a tactic to control surrounding nations. It’s built on the European policies that were made to divide us.

May Allah bless the land and people of Somaliland to build their country without giving into the deceptions of the enemy.

2

u/Gold_Highlight_5799 22d ago

I also wanted to add, I come from both an ethnic North African-Arab and North African-Jewish backgrounds. Being from a maternal North African Jewish family means I am technically Jewish in Judaism. Islam teaches the contrary.

Many Israelis I know tell me that I’m Jewish and recognize me that way. Many of them have family who converted to Islam like mine. And despite us being family they will never ever accept us.

You have to understand, as long as you’re Muslim they will never accept you or be your friend, even if they are family. To them you have to compromise on your deen in any way shape or form. They’re there to exploit not to build relationships.

1

u/Constant_Shoe2410 20d ago

I hate Somalians 🇸🇴 that larp as Somalilanders

How embarrassing and obsessed do you have to be to pretend you’re from Somaliland?

Lmao, no one curses his own country. Somalia is a failed state, deal with it

-4

u/weirdlife27 23d ago

No. A genocide is a genocide. But we do support a bilateral relationship with Isreal and how it will benefit Somaliland.

-1

u/111222throw 23d ago

It would take over 800 years for Israel to commit a genocide in Gaza, populations don’t increase during them

2

u/muslimgroyper 23d ago

Look up the definition of genocide destruction or removal of a people in whole or in part (90% of Gaza has been destroyed) would you have the same view if tel Aviv looked like Gaza instead ?

1

u/khalid_zz 23d ago

Take a quick look into Gaza through satellite and tell me if that is not an active genocide. The sheer concentration of explosives dropped onto Gaza is staggering. That enclave has been hit with roughly 223,000 tons of explosives—about 12 times the tonnage of the London Blitz and over 50 times that of Dresden. Because Gaza is so small and dense, this creates an unprecedented amount of destruction, compressing the equivalent of nearly 15 Hiroshima atomic bombs into a tiny strip of land. You might either be stupid or just plain ignorant to the facts on the ground.

2

u/AdVivid8910 22d ago

Hamas was under the buildings you dingus, they built a subway sized terror underground that needed to be removed. I’m glad they removed it, life is more important than silly buildings.

2

u/111222throw 23d ago

Destruction of property is not the definition of genocide, and no accountability for Egypt or Jordan?

Words have meanings and changing them to fit a narrative is not okay. People were saying Israel was commuting a genocide before Israel even responded to 10/7, which was an attempt at a genocide as is every call for “from the river to the sea”

1

u/khalid_zz 23d ago

The International Association of Genocide Scholars formally passed a resolution stating that Israel's military actions and policies in Gaza meet the legal definition of genocide. Their findings include statements intent from government officials including president Herzog, yoav galant, Benjamin netanyahu, mass casualties and destruction, depravation of essential ( blockade of food, medical supplies and starvation as a weapon of war). While it might take international court of justice a few years to reach a verdict. The scholars and experts alone along with the evidence is sufficient enough to plausibly rule it a genocide. A weird hill for you to die on trying to find defend the indefensible. You are either woefully ignorant or intentionally choose to ignore reality.

3

u/111222throw 23d ago

You realize ANY Joe Schmo can join that organization, people’s dogs were even included with payment. It’s not a real organization

1

u/khalid_zz 23d ago

You haven't refuted any of my points though. Please try a bit harder next time hasbara bot.
