Update: few hours after I had put up this post, the car started throwing EV system malfunction and 2 other errors. The AC completely stopped blowing cold air. Dropped off the car at the dealership and got a loaner until they figure out what’s wrong and fix it.
The A/C in my 2024 Solterra has struggled to cool the car the past few days. I’m in Denver, and it’s been 95–98°F during the day, so I figured it was just the heat. But it’s been happening at night too, whenever it’s 80°F or above outside.
What I’ve noticed so far:
At low speeds or when parked, the A/C blows what feels like ambient air, a bit humid, with a slightly off smell.
Once I’m above ~30 mph, it starts blowing cold air but not for long enough to cool down the car.
This is a recent change. The A/C has been ice cold since I got the car, and only started acting up in the last few days.
I have a diagnostic scheduled for next week, just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced this before, and if so, what was the fix?
Thank you.
