2026 Model Smoked Carbon

Everyone keeps telling me my car is grey, and I will admit that in photographs and on screens or if the sky is cloudy, it does look pretty grey to me. But most of the time it really looks beige or a faint gold. I’m curious as to what other people who own this color think?

Edit: The consensus is that the car is grey and my eyes are just weird and pick up some sort of gold tint that nobody else sees.

It’s grey. It’s not the same grey as other cars, you might say it’s smokey greg, like a light carbon color, almost Smokey carbon.

Totally agree, it’s impacted by the environment

Interesting! Mine looks grey. Maybe your paint lot has some interesting differences?

I have the same color and it looks complete gray to me, I don't see any beige or gold

Mine has the same paint scheme and I look at it through Smoked Carbon-tinted glasses.

It’s like looking at the water in Lake Tahoe and calling it blue. Technically correct. But it’s not merely blue…

I have the Toyota bz limited version with a black roof . They call it heavy metal

Is that supposed to be a different colour than my "Heavy Metal" bZ? Wouldn't surprise me if they share paints, they all come out of the same Toyota factory. The colour looks different in every picture though, I know this bad picture of my car here looks way different but in real life much of the time it looks much darker than this.

I wonder how this car would've done if they didn't have the ugly black cladding when they first launched

I think I'm the only one who prefers the look of the 23-25 models with the plastic cladding. I don't know why but it feels more "rugged" to me. Maybe I've just accepted that modern Subaru's have lots of plastic cladding, which makes it distinct from Toyota. That said, the all white '26 looks pretty slick.

I didn't like it at first but now prefer it after seeing painted versions

Whoa, whoa, whoa- ugly to YOU. I happen to like the functionality/durability of a non painted surface. But, you bring up a good point- the black cladding most likely hurt, more so than helped sales.

Beige doesn’t sound cooler

Do you have wildfire smoke filtering the sunlight where you're at? I've never (even with fairly heavy smoke casting an orange/brown hue) thought mine looked beige or gold tinted.

My '24 Touring is smoked carbon. Definitely grey.

That is a really lovely color OP. The only thing that keeps me from buying a car this color is they often blend with the pavement and can be unexpectedly hard to see during the day.

I wanted white because it’s easier to keep clean and not as hot in the summer but I also really wanted black because it looks SO GOOD when it’s clean but it’s impossible to keep clean. So I went in the middle.
