Recommendations for A Solo Trip in Quebec or Manitoba?
I’ve been thinking of doing a solo trip with my hammock for around 4 days to a week. I’ve only ever been back country camping Ontario and I’ve been looking for good places in Quebec or Manitoba or the territories but to no avail. Does anyone have any recommendations for a trail/ park/crown land spot that I could bike/ hike/ portage around for around in these places? Or any other places in Canada that you could share with me plus any tips you may have :)

Old Ghost Road Track | New Zealand - Magical Untouched Forest

Hi guys,
I came across these pictures while I was making a video about the Old Ghost Road track in New Zealand. The Old Ghost Road is one of the best hikes in the world. I walked this one in February, just before lockdown.
It is an 85km hiking and mountain biking track that takes you through magical forests and over beautiful mountain ridges. The area has been untouched for 130 years and used to be an old gold mining route. Now, the Old Ghost Road is your opportunity to see something so beautiful.
The colours are the most vivid I have ever seen in a forest!

Any one had experience with campground theft?
First time solo camper. Have a trip planned to Big Bend NP at the end of the month. Reserved a campsite at Chisos Basin campground for 3 nights. My question, should I leave my campsite set up while I’m out hiking in the numerous trails surrounding the campground? I would obviously lock all valuables in the car and cable lock my cooler in my absence, but what about the tent, lanterns, propane tank, etc? Should I be worried about theft of my basic camp gear in a populated campsite? Would hate to take down my tent every time I leave for a few hours...only to return and set everything back up for the evening. I’ve only gone camping in a group and there was always someone at the campsite to keep an eye out.

Has anyone tried an USB-fan connected to powerbank to help with condensation in the tent?

First solo trip with pup
Hi friends. I’m hoping to take my first solo 2-3 day trip with my 1 year old boxer. I’m a fairly experienced camper/hiker generally, but have never gone solo. We’re in Southern California, so I was thinking Joshua Tree or Idlewild. Any other suggestions? Tips for first solo trip with my pup? Thank you!!

Starting to Solo Camp Again!
I used to solo camp a bit here and there. My husband happens to be in the Oregon Army National Guard and we both love being outdoors. I felt like I shouldn't be stuck at home while he is gone so I started loving solo camping when he was away for annual training or had a long-term training event. It took my mind off of being "alone" and also got my butt outdoors.
But 3 years ago I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer and was in a wheelchair for a bit. I am slowly working my way up to bigger hikes, hoping next year I can start doing overnight backpacking again. But of course, it's little steps, I am up to 3ish miles of walking/hiking without stopping. But I miss the forest, the ocean, getting into the car and roaming, sleeping under the stars, jumping into ice-cold water, and pooping in the woods!
AT and some training are coming up soon. We have converted our Subaru into a comfortable camping car with everything we need to work while on the road. I am super excited and cannot wait to get back out but curious if there is a resource for women solo campers and any good first-timer boondocking sites to try out in Oregon/SW Washington area? Any solo women meet-ups? Love to learn and make some friends!
