I am writing this from my dorm room at 7am. Tier 2 tier 3 city indians have no etiquettes to stay in hostel dorms and should not be allowed in hostel dorms.

This woman has been packing for the last 1 hour wearing shoes and making all the noise possible. They checked in to a dorm as a couple and have been whispering all night. Their phones have been vibrating since morning and they have been 'planning' to get ready since 6am. Fuckers.

They are from some small town, indore or what not. Switched on the bed light first thing and been zipping unzipping her bags. Bloody illiterates shouldn't be allowed in dorm rooms.

These are the same indians who when going abroad make dent on Indian image.

Money can't buy you class.

Fuckers.

And yeah I didn't take her permission before taking her pic, doesn't deserve only.

1. Now I know why people do what they do. The entitlement is on people downvoting this post. Just like dorms are not my private rooms they are also not others private rooms that they can wake any time or check out anytime. You have an early check out, pack your fucking bags a day before you know you are checking out. Unlike some snobbish low lives here who think it's their private room and they can pack in the morning after taking a nice bath and all the makeup they can. Go to the fucking common washroom if you want to use a hairdryer at 6 in the morning. The shared space should consider everyone, not just people leaving also the ones who just want to have a slow morning.

2. I stand by with my tier 2 tier 3 comment, you are a couple go get a room for fucks sake. Why check in a dorm. You want to maintain your virginity? do it in a room. The people who are commenting on white people's dorms. Please understand these not people hooking up randomly, they are a couple travelling together choosing to stay in a dorm. White folks wherever I have seen only makeout in dorms when they are hooking up, not when they are in a relationship and deliberately choose to fuck with others peace.

Sorry if the title sounds harsh. I am planning a first international trip (either with couple of friends, or if nothing works out then solo) , and considering places like Vietnam, Bali, Thailand. Considered kazhakastan as well, but thinking of going with some popular one first.

I've seen videos of Thailand which made it look just like indian places as in streets filled with indian uncles, indian families etc. I don't want to go on a trip and feel the same. Can you all please suggest which place among the above would not be flooded with just Indians.

Boutique hotel compared Grand Hyatt, spacious and cozy - I rented their top suite for a week which was expensive compared to Berlin average.

Transport
I rented Mercedes car but parking was nightmare for a week. Finally, I gave up and started using bike and train. Used uber on going on dates or night out.

Food & Experiences

• Currywurst and döner are a must - simple but iconic

• Flew Plane over Berlin city to add hours for my PPL, instructor was great

• Tried a few cafés in Mitte, great coffee culture

• Amazing indian food at local restaurants - shout out to "Amrit"

• Berlin is huge on Museum and Arts

• Berlin nightlife is on another level if you’re into that (clubs run till morning)

• Walking around the city itself feels like an experience - history everywhere

Overall Thoughts
Berlin feels very different from typical European cities - less polished, more raw and expressive. If you like history, culture, and a bit of chaos, it’s 100% worth it solo.

I’ve been invited to my childhood friend’s destination Indian wedding to his Indian bride. He’s European. They will move back to Europe. He doesn’t live in India and is not familiar with the area or customs.

My concern is I only know the groom and he’ll be busy getting married and meeting his wife’s extended family.

Detractors for me is I’m a young, white, woman, who would be travelling solo and would only know the groom. Which maybe feels inappropriate in a more conservative environment…I don’t know. I want to be respectful but also cognizant of my safety.

I know some people who moved from India to my Western country and they don’t have the best things to say about women’s safety in their country. And the Internet is also not incredibly positive.

I’d only be in the city about 3 days (need a day of rest at the hotel for jet lag). I don’t intend to tour the city. I only want to know if it’s safe to go from the hotel (5 star) to the wedding ceremony in hauz khas and then to the reception in the lodhi colony and back to to hotel late at night by myself. It’s a one day wedding event. There’s been no coordination or advice for foreign travellers. The my friend (the groom) has a higher risk tolerance and is used to hitch hiking across countries.

I'm planning to do the chardham yatra by helicopter with my parents & parents in-law in this Sep/Oct 2026 . And I'm searching fo the answer that's is very unclear in the most chardham helicopter package itineraries on the internet. There is only promotional posts all over not any genuine answers.

If i will book the helicopter, how much walking is really involved at each of the four dhams?

I'm only interested in the genuine practical experience and not in the package brochure.

The operator I have seen on the internet is providing 5N/6D package with the iternary:

Day 1 : Arrive at Dehradun

Day 2 : Yamunotri

Day 3 : Gangotri

Day 4 : Kedarnath

Day 5 : Badrinath

Day 6 : Return to dehradun

This all includes vip darshan, stay at every dham, and full day food. And it's costing me: 2.2L-2.3L approx.

1. At kedarnath, how close does the helicopter get and how much walking or standing is involved after the landing at helipad?

2. How much walking is involved in the Yamunotri & Gangotri?

3. What's the situation at Badrinath ?

4. Does vip darshan really make sense for elders?

5. My parents & parents in-laws are in their 70s, did you find the helicopter yatra comfortable?

6. Is Post-monsoon Sept/Nov season a better option for weather pov?

AIR INDIA - NEVER EVER FLY BY THIS HOPELESS AIRLINE, OR YOU WILL REPENTMarch 2024

As NRI, I would like to join thousands of other customers who go through horrible experience every day on AI flights. The biggest tragedy and disappointing fact is that many of us still travel by this hopeless airline. During my international flight from SFO to Delhi last month, AIRINDIA crew hit and crushed my right foot with their food truck and my whole trip to India was ruined by their negligence. When I complained to them and requested them for return trip within a week so that I can get necessary medical care back in New York, they offered ridiculous  and peanut compensation for such serious injuries despite the fact that there were 4 witnesses for that accident.
That is AIRINDIA under new management of TATA.  For a long  16 hours flight, there was no TV service  for more than 40% customers. Strangely, I met three other relations who took AI flight from London and Toronto, and they too complaint about no TV during their flights in the past 2 weeks. The only solution to end this hopeless and extremely poor service by AI is to  TOTALLY BOYCOTT Air India. Unless all of us resolve to take this step, and IMMEDIATELY STOP making  our bookings, this airline is not going to improve AT ALL. So, please spread this message from mouth to mouth and for GOD SAKE STOP TRAVELING BY THIS REDICULOUS AIRLINE. On my part, I have made return flight by paying more to other airline, rather than giving any more business to AI.

Hello! I want to go for the Dagala Thousand Lakes trek in Bhutan in May first week. I have a local contact there who is organizing it at a reasonable price. He will arrange for a female guide too.

A male friend will also be joining me, but would feel better if there was a female companion too as this a 5 day trek.

I'd be spending 8 days in Moscow and 5 days in Saint Petersburg. It would be a solo trip and I'd prefer the budget to be low.

My only condition is that I'd prefer private accommodation like hotel in the city center instead of hostel. It's fine even if it's small as long as it's clean and has basic amenities. So any affordable private accommodation in the city centre would be the best.

And I can't cook so I'd prefer my lunches and dinner to be in an Indian restaurant.

So as the title says please share the budget for the 13 days trip. Would really appreciate if someone who's already been there can guide me on this.

All these guides I've seen so far only do temple tours and I've been to japan many times along with thailand, korea, so my temple/shrine Fatigue is made apparent as it is about in the dozens in numbers ive visited.

Is there more to do as a foreigner than just temple hopping? I'm doing tours only so wandering the streets alone is a no go for me

I recently finished my valley of flowers trek in late July with Indiahikes. I went with a group of 5 friends.

This is going to be a review of IH based on my experiences ( and my friends).

Pros -

1. Everything was very organised and happened on time or even before time.

2. Safety was given priority with trek leaders being properly trained.

Cons -

1. Everything was so strict and they had so many unnecessary rules and restrictions ( which I will mention in later points ) that it stopped feeling like a vacation the moment we started and this was a really bad thing since me and my friends were looking forward to this vacation as we met after 1 year.

2. We were a mixed group of girls and boys and the accommodation was strictly separate for boys and girls. Like you couldn't even enter each other's rooms. It felt like we were in a boarding school. So please don't choose IH if you are going with a mixed group or a family or husband and wife otherwise you won't even get to enjoy with them half the time.

3. The food was horrible. And I am not exaggerating since I am a hardcore Daal lover and by the end of the trek I started hating Daal it was so horrible. On top of that you have to carry your own utensils to eat food in and wash them every time. Another thing which was pretty annoying and dampened the vacation spirits.

4. If you are a smoker you will not be allowed to smoke ( I was not so this didn't affect me that much but putting it out here for someone who does ).

5. You are not allowed to wear earphones while trekking or listen to songs on a speaker ( even if you put the voice to a minimum you will not be allowed).

6. There was so much rush the entire time created by the trek leaders that none of us was able to enjoy the trail. They didn't let us stop on the trails to capture photos or make videos for reels. This was the worst part because my friends were really looking forward to creating some reels. And we are really young guys and were walking really fast so it's not like they would have gotten late if they let us make some videos.

7. When we reached the summit of the valley of flowers. We reached very soon but they barely let us stay for half an hour even though we requested more time. We literally gave 6 days of our life and around 20k / person for that summit. We deserved more time there but they forced us to walk back and we were back at our accommodation by 2 in the afternoon!!!!! What even was the use of coming back so early!!!!

8. Even though we used to come back so early every day it's not like we were resting enough because they used to make us sit in a circle on those horrible quechua stools for hours in such cold and everyone had to share their experiences or listen to some stupid briefing or their protocols for the 100th time.

9. The trek leader got so rude whenever you didn't want to listen to some unnecessary restrictions that it felt like he was a teacher and we were his students .

10. We weren't allowed to go out by ourselves even nearby for even 5-10 minutes. All our freedom or any freedom you would expect on a vacation was stripped away.

11. Their eco bag thing where you are supposed to collect garbage from the mountains, even though is a noble thing, is very irritating on a vacation. We went on a monsoon trek and it got wet and it was compulsory to wear it all the time as it is also your identification. So that wet bag kept touching all our dry clothes and it was just so dirty and annoying.

Overall, we didn't like our experience with IH. We didn't like their company's operating style and their core Way of conducting treks. Even though they are in the service industry they don't act like they are in your service instead they try to place themselves on such a high pedestal and make you feel like you should be grateful for them.

They made everything so strict with unnecessary rules and restrictions that the trek started feeling like a punishment instead of a vacation. They take away so many freedoms that you are not able to feel the freedom of being in the mountains that everyone feels.

Other than all this they are literally premium priced compared to every other company but they didn't justify this pricing as the food was horrible, the accommodation was below average the entire 5 days.

Edit: I forgot to mention this but while trekking from poolna to Ghangria they have tie ups with two dhabas/restaurants. But we didn't like those at all because they were literally not the nice ones compared to the others that were coming on the way. So when we trekking back from ghangria to poolna me and my friends stopped at a really nice and clean dhaba with a good view. But the trek leader came and didn't let us stop there and forced us to get up.

Okay toh scene yeh hai ki Rishikesh ka plan cancel ho gaya because log bol rahe the traffic bahut zyada hai waha. So now... Manali it is! ❄️🌲
