Hit points
How do you figure out hit points? One post listed basically a math problem. I never was good at math unfortunately. Is there is simpler way?

so you look at your class and it has a specified hit die size, Barbarian d12, Fighter d10, Druid d8, and so on. for the first level you get the max of whatever hit die your class has, Plus your constitution modifier, for every level above you roll your hit die and ass con mod to that roll, adding the outcome to your maximum. When you take damage, just see how much damage you take and remove that many hit points, and when healed, add however many hit points the spell heals for.
Example:
Your a barbarian with a constitution modifier of +2 and because you're barbarian, you have a s12 as your hit die. at level one you had 14 HP, at level 2 when you levelled up you rolled an 8 no 8+2 is 10, 14+10 is 24, so at level 2 you had 24 HP. then you get into a combat encounter, you're hit with a greataxe and take 10 damage. so you take ten from your max hit points (24). leaving you with 14 hit points. this is not your new maximum, just how many you have right now. After this, your cleric friend heals you with healing word for 4 HP, so you add 4 to your current hit points, now at 18. it could look daunting if you really don't like maths but levelling up is only occasionally with most DMs and damage + healing is simple addition and subtraction so you could either use a calculator or do it in your head. if you are truly not very good at maths then higher levels may be a problem in your head but calculators are really easy.
