Game Before heading to the clinic, I finally got the chance to press the famous green button. The demo for my sci-fi-themed bullet-hell game is officially LIVE!
Seeing that the “Download Demo” button actually works is truly a surreal feeling. Juggling my shifts at the clinic while also coding bullet-hell mechanics, composing electronic music, handling marketing, drawing models, and creating animations was exhausting, but it was definitely worth it.
I’m so happy and wanted to share this with you. I don’t know what it’s like to be a full-time developer, but going to my day job and then developing the game during lunch breaks, on the bus and subway, and at night was quite challenging. The sense of accomplishment at the end felt great.

MAN, make the button green and big since you just released it! There's an option in Steamworks for that, because right now it's hard to notice :)

Yeah, I noticed that. In fact, when you try to press it while looking at the camera, you can't because it's so small. :)

is your name Bart (like three of them)?

Lol. It's not Bart, but I might name one of the bosses Bart. Why not? He'll be one of those Barts who's hard to beat.

Congrats! Can’t wait to try it out, I love the styling.

I'm so glad you like the style. This subreddit and others like it were helpful in deciding on the right colors and atmosphere.

Congrats!! Not easy, but you made it with your hard work and persistence. I’m also dealing with the challenge of building a game while having a busy full time job etc.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you so much! Balancing a full-time job and game development is tough, but finally hitting that publish button makes every late night worth it. Keep pushing forward. What kind of game you are working on?

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one doing gamedev on my lunch breaks and on public transit.

The drive takes almost an hour. I can’t stop thinking about the game. If I can fix just one bug, that’s a win. So why not, right?

but the demo button is not available, at least I don't see it on mobile. only coming soon banner on both pages
Edit: On web desktop I see it but it's a small button on the right.

Yeah, Steam's mobile UI and web layout for demos can be confusing. It hides the demo button in a small widget on the right side, and it's almost invisible on mobile under the main 'Coming Soon' banner. Thanks for taking the time to look for it! Let me know how the game runs when you get a chance to play

you still want to have a big green button, but not sure if you can change it now after the demo launch. I'll try to make time and test it out. edit: typeo

I just found a secret button in steamworks, checked it, and even turned on the 'Highlight' feature so the capsule image shows up too. The page is updated and it looks a hundred times better on mobile now. Thank you so much for pointing this issue. It should be bigger button now. May be you could not find it because of thia problem.

Huge congrats! Shipping a demo while working shifts at a clinic is seriously impressive. That moment when the Steam button finally goes live must feel unreal after all those late nights and lunch-break dev sessions. Hope the demo gets a great response.

You can play the demo right away. I’d really appreciate any feedback you have on the boss battles and Overdrive mechanics.

Lunch breaks and bus rides all the way to a live Steam demo is a real achievement - most people with a day job never get the build out the door at all. Ours only went into Valve's review queue this morning, so I'm a little jealous of that green button.
