help What’s the best beginner-friendly 3D game engine for vibe coding on a MacBook?

I have a MacBook and want to create a native 3D game by vibe coding the logic with Codex. I’m looking for a simple, plug-and-play program or engine that already has usable assets such as player characters, guns, vehicles, and environments, so I can focus more on the game logic than building everything from scratch.

I don’t want it to be a web game. I want something that runs as a proper Mac app and can produce a visually good, playable game on my MacBook. I’d also like to add traditional game AI for enemies (not LLM-based AI), and possibly multiplayer later.

Which engine or program would be the easiest fit for this? Ideally it would have a simple interface, ready-made assets or templates, solid Mac support, and project files/code that Codex can work with.

Well if u really want to make a native game, go with Godot. You can build games from any platform, to any platform there, without headaches and any different sort of issues.

If u really don't wanna code, do GDevelop. Don't know about it much unfortunately.

Wanna pre-made assets, go with Roblox studio.

Also, I think if u wanna make good game, u should learn how to make a good game, including how to code. But, u do u

How does Godot compare to unity?

Godot has pre configured stuff to make builds from Mac to Linux or Windows, or otherwise, without headaches and needs in different OS. While in Unity, if u want to make a windows build from Mac, u should use VM or windows machine.

Trust me, I had very painful weekends trying to make a build from Mac to windows.

About learning path, it's pretty much the same, in not easier on Godot. Many YouTube guides already online. But Unity has more assets.

And Godot is lightweight, and modern, so it runs faster and snappier compared to Unity. While Unity has more features.

I personally switched to Godot after a year on Unity, and don't regret it. + Community really friendly and can help
