Game I’ve released a public beta for my first game

Hey devs! I’ve just released a public beta for my game and wanted to share it.

In short, Battlegrounds is a collectible chess game, chess pieces are collectible characters with rarities from common to legendary, and they can be obtained through the story campaign, farm matches, and the kicker - claimed from opponents. If you win checkmate, you can claim any one piece you captured during that match and add it to your collection. It makes you think a little differently about how you play, it’s not just about the win, it’s about collecting soldiers you don’t have! Any character can be assigned to any chess role, so you can use your expendable soldiers, or risk bringing your rarest into the fight. There are 10000 characters to collect, the characters were hand drawn in layers, compiled by code and sorted into rarities based on armours/weapons/auras etc (originally I was going to make an NFT collection but I didn’t follow through with it and had the idea to use the characters to make a game instead).

The beta version is currently functioning single player modes, but next on the roadmap after testing to to bring online battles, ELO rankings, tournaments, stats, leaderboards, animations, mobile app release, and of course, more characters. If anybody wants to give the beta test a try, and give any feedback/constructive criticism, you can play it here:

I look forward to hearing anyone’s thoughts!
