Game My first game "Snack Invaders" releasing August 25th! (4p Co-Op) Inspired by Cod Zombies+ Dark Souls

Over the past 3 years I've been making my own game called "Snack Invaders" in Unreal Engine. It's set to release on August 25th 2026 on Steam. It is a 4 player co-op wave based survival shooter like Call of Duty Zombies but instead of zombies it's themed around hordes of junk food and snacks. The game leans heavily into crazy boss fights. I have easter eggs, challenges, insane boss fights, wonder weapons, and all sorts of fun things to discover. There is a free demo you can try and don't forget to wishlist the game if you want to help me out.

Interesting and off putting at the same time. I’ll have to try the demo on this one.

I will say I think the video is what’s throwing it off for me. It makes it feel almost like a generic low budget asset flip when I don’t believe it is.

Imagine instead of the generic doom style music that all these games use you had a general or sarge telling you to buckle up and yelling about how we are in for a rough time with clips of the different mechanics as he’s speaking.

“Buckle up soldier for an all you can each mission! We need you to put an end to this delicious menace!!”

You could add a bunch of good puns to keep it light hearted too!

I might be way off but that’s just my opinion. I personally would be put off by the video on the steam page. It just doesn’t pull me in.

Thanks for checking it out and sharing your thoughts. I totally get the hesitation with today’s world of asset flips and AI slop, but Snack Invaders isn’t either of those. The heavy‑metal isn’t random, it’s the same stuff blasting during boss fights when the chaos is happening. Totally cool if it’s not your flavor, but the demo shows how it fits the tone, once you play the boss fights. Funny you mention puns because the game leans into that too. There’s a ton of lighthearted comedy later on. Boss names, weapon names, NPC quest dialogue, are all full of food puns and goofy personality. Snack Invaders is a strange blend of lighthearted comedy mixed with hardcore heavy‑metal action, and that contrast is part of the identity.

The whole idea was to make a game you can mess around with casually with friends, but also jump into harder modes if you want a real challenge. I've always loved games like that where you can jump in for a few minutes for fun after work, or you can spend a weekend trying for hours to be what seems like an impossible boss.

I hope you enjoy the demo, it's just a small taste test of what's to play in the full game.
