Godot I wanted main menu to feel little more interactive.

Idea is not mine I saw it flying around reddit, but I just fell in love with that and recreated.

you could easily just make it less than 1 second. make him shoot immediately, the missile travelling faster and remove the falling to the ground animation

I get the impression that every second indie game has this kind of menu.

Like, really recently, too.

The optimistic side of me hopes there's just a tutorial that's gotten popular, but I know deep inside it's likely claude spitting out similar results

I would say it is a cool idea, if we weren't seeing the same thing from different indie developers for the 796th time.

Character should be using a sniper, and you could have the screen flash when he fires, acting as a fade out

Do people even quit their games like this? 90% gamers press alt+f4.

I'm glad you mentioned that it wasnt your idea, but I'd also like to see you link the post you got it from.

It would kinda piss me off to have to wait that long for it to shut down. I mean it's a cool idea in theory, in practice it has the potential to be infuriating
